Lasse's got it. Andreas Bjelland's got it. Ollie Watkins' got it. Brentford's got it. Vibe. They've also got three points.

The Bees come up with a crucial away win to steer themselves to a happy Christmas at Griffin Park but for Norwich it's a time for reflection and most likely training when others are tucking into their turkey.

To be fair, it was not the most dynamic way to kick off our festive EFL coverage you could have asked for, but it's just about done the job.

    Norwich 1-2 Brentford

How strange is football? Brentford had this game in the bag, signed, sealed and delivered by Lasse Vibe's first-half double but Norwich put the jitters on with a late goal from Nelson Oliveira.

The scoreline doesn't tell the story, Brentford were so dominant. Norwich were a pale shadow of a side with ambitions of promotion this season.

There's genuine unrest from supporters at Carrow Road but for the Bees there's optimism. It's a good Christmas for those in red and white but the Canaries will have a miserable wait for Boxing Day to come around.

    Norwich 1-2 Brentford

We're at least midway through the added four minutes.

Brentford desperately just hooking everything away, Norwich conversely desperate to hammer it forward.

Jamal Lewis lets the occasion get the better of him as he clubs out of play when trying to launch an attack... Norwich still going...

    Nelson Oliveira

Nelson Oliveira FINALLY gets himself on the scoresheet.

Edge of the box, caught his shot neatly... back of the net.

Game on? Might be nervy. Amid all the boos and jeers from the crowd, Norwich have given themselves a bit of fight!

  7. FOUR MINUTES ADDED TIMEpublished at 90 mins

    Norwich 0-2 Brentford

Barring some kind of miracle up there with Tim Allen becoming Santa Claus, Norwich are as cooked as one of Delia Smith's Christmas turkey dinners.

Brentford are buzzing as bees might. Lasse Vibe did the damage first half... oh hang on...

    Norwich 0-2 Brentford

Have Norwich enjoyed a team Christmas meal a couple of hours before this game?

Right now they look like they're trying to digest a few pigs in blankets. Coasting. Where is the intensity?

  9. CLOSE!published at 85 mins

    Norwich 0-2 Brentford

Sergi Canos just spun his marker, rattles off a shot that Angus Gunn has to turn round his post. Real threat.

Then Yoann Barbet spanks a volley wide from distance. Norwich casually watch as the Bees float and sting.

26,735 crowd at Norwich. They deserve better for that level of support.

    Norwich 0-2 Brentford

Oh look. Nelson Oliveira heads into the hands of Daniel Bentley. Ridiculously flamboyant cross by Alex Pritchard for a team 2-0 down. What's that flick called? Rabona. Did one of them.

Josh McEachran is on for Kamohelo Mokotjo for Brentford.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 80 mins

    Norwich 0-2 Brentford

More simulation bookings. Alex Pritchard follows Neal Maupay into the book. Referee Jeremy Simpson wants the real-deal. No fakes.

    Time ticking away for Norwich.

    Norwich 0-2 Brentford

Such digression is what's keeping my brain whirring at the moment. I cannot say this game has been a classic in any way.

Just as I type... Norwich get a great chance as Timm Klose powers forward, threads through to Mario Vrancic who wallops it toward the goal and it flicks the bar at speed and goes to safety.

    More of that please!

Gary Wolinski: Our Santa already did. Emiliano Marcondes. Cannot wait to see him on the pitch. Top 6 for Brentford? What ya think?

The talent is there Gary. Competitive league though isn't it? If Norwich have a German tint then Brentford have a massive Danish one. Brentfjord you might say. Tee hee. (There are fjords in Denmark, I checked)

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 73 mins

Sergi Canos, ex of the Canaries Norfolk parish, comes on for Florian Jozefzoon.

Polite applause from Norwich fans. Nice.

As long as you get nowt on the 30 December, I'll grant you the lot.

    Norwich 0-2 Brentford

Ollie Watkins swings in a corner which is punched clear by Angus Gunn. That set-piece came after Timm Klose made a telling block in the move before hand...

Now Norwich break - James Maddison skilfully skips beyond two would-be tacklers and looks to find Nelson Oliveira. Danish rock Andreas Bjelland intercepts. Nothing concrete from Norwich. Brentford comfy.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 68 mins

    Norwich 0-2 Brentford

Norwich throw on two subs. Jamal Lewis comes on for his maiden first-team appearance, and Josh Murphy joins him. Marley Watkins and Marco Stiepermann (on a yellow) come off.

    Norwich 0-2 Brentford

Mario Vrancic snaps a volley toward the Brentford goal, swivelling to fire over the top after Nelson Oliveira's shot is blocked.

Norwich edging closer. But no cigar. Not even a soggy roll-up at the moment.

Marley and Ollie Watkins clash, and come off a little sore. Might be a break in play. Oooh a drop-ball! Don't see them much any more... Not that it was properly competitive.

    Norwich 0-2 Brentford

Simulation booking for Neal Maupay, toddler-dives in the box when there was a chance to have a dig at goal.

Daft from the Brentford substitute. Jeremy Simpson having none of that faffing about.

No change to the score in this second-half so far.
