    Norwich 0-0 Brentford

Having been peppered, Brentford have a chance of their own.

Florian Jozefzoon fizzes into Lasse Vibe, who uses some delicious footwork to get away from the Norwich defence and then slides into the path of Yoan Barbet whose shot is saved by Angus Gunn.

    End-to-end right now.

  3. CLOSE!published at 29 mins

    Norwich 0-0 Brentford

Almost up to the half-hour mark in the Championship as Norwich and Brentford enjoy this festive stalemate.

It's quite nostalgic having a Gunn in goal for Norwich. Angus' dad of course is legendary Bryan Gunn. No kids of Fleck, Culverhouse, Gordon, Sutch or Goss sadly though.

Marco Stiepermann gets forward and put another cross into the box which was a bit overhit. Now a Canaries corner...

BOOM! OH SO CLOSE! Cleared off the line as Marley Watkins' shot is hooked away, Daniel Bentley makes a string of saves... Timm Klose's header wide! All going on.

    Norwich 0-0 Brentford

Just as I said this game was a wee bit lacking in fizz... someone's popped the cork as it's opening up.

Romaine Sawyers exchanges passes with Ollie Watkins before he whacks it high and wide for the visitors.

Good to see some chances coming.

Angus Gunn the saviour for Norwich!

Superb save to deny Ollie Watkins again, who heads Lasse Vibe's ball towards goal.

Then another save from Vibe. Super stuff.

Too many Watkins on this pitch. Confusing me!

    Norwich 0-0 Brentford

Let's just say this has been a bit scrappy. Norwich's Marley Watkins has been lively, Nelson Oliveira too and Lasse Vibe for Brentford.

Feels flat though in general despite a good attendance. Bit like Christmas Day in that lull between dinner and tea...

    Norwich 0-0 Brentford

Norwich do have 11 players on the pitch but currently it's Nelson Oliveira who's involved the most. He should have done better when picking up a loose pass but was unable to get into the box.

Lasse Vibe in a similar space for Brentford moments later but neither got a shot away of note.

  9. Doyle stunner for Coventrypublished at 20:03 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2017

    Coventry 1-0 Wycombe

Michael Doyle goalImage source, Rex Features

In League Two, Michael Doyle has just put Coventry ahead with an absolute worldie.

The Sky Blues captain picked the ball up around 45 yards from goal and bent it into the net on 14 minutes.

    Delightful.

    Norwich 0-0 Brentford

Nelson Oliveira has another dig but this time but can only blast it at teammate and ex-Brentford loanee Alex Pritchard.

Brentford defensive shape keeping the Canaries at bay... finding it hard to play through.

  11. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Norwich 0-0 Brentford

Norwich have their best chance of the game, German defender Marco Stieperman sends in a cross which Portugal international Nelson Oliveira is unable to steer in.

Better from the Canaries, but it's Brentford in the ascendancy.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2017

    Fleetwood 0-2 Gillingham

In the League One game which kicked off at 19:00 GMT (why?) - Gillingham take a two-goal advantage into the break.

Josh Parker and Luke O'Neill put the Kent side 2-0 up within 15 minutes.

At the Ricoh Arena, it's still goalless in League Two between Coventry and Wycombe. 10 minutes have gone.

    Norwich 0-0 Brentford

It's calmed down a little after that early excitement from Brentford.

Good tussle in midfield. Brentford's Ollie Watkins looks a quality player by the way. What a signing he was from Exeter.

  14. BRENTFORD HIT THE POSTpublished at 3 mins

    Norwich 0-0 Brentford

Ollie Watkins smacks the post with a chance! Brentford work a great opening on the edge of the box, strike the woodwork and Lasse Vibe is unable to tuck in the rebound.

    Bees buzzing. Ho, ho, ho!

  15. KICK-OFFpublished at 0 mins

    Norwich 0-0 Brentford

We've had the Gladiator music, we've had the PA fella trying to gee up the fans. We've got the teams on the pitch in front of a decent crowd at Carrow Road.

Jeremy Simpson is the man with the whistle. He toots it. We're underway.

    Brentford drawsImage source, Rex Features

Six wins, six defeats, 10 draws. Predicting which Brentford team will turn up is a tough one.

It's a little easier to do so when you break down those results. Only one defeat at Griffin Park shows just how good they are in their little corner of West London.

On their travels however, five losses. Music to the Canaries ears. As is their recent record against the Carrow Road boys - 11 defeats from 13 visits to East Anglia.

Dean Smith's Bees will need to rediscover their sting to defy the formbook.

    Norwich v Brentford (19:45 GMT)

James Maddison and fringeImage source, Getty Images

Norwich City have had a rather stark tumble in form since the clocks went back and the nights drew in.

They were sixth after October's derby win against Ipswich, basking in the glow of a ninth straight East Anglia triumph.

However, six defeats and just one win have followed in the following nine games. Not the mid-season form the promotion chasers wanted.

Talk has turned to "financial challenges" by chairman Ed Balls if that aim is not achieved. Better get a wriggle on Canaries...

Who would you love to see Santa deliver to your club this Christmas? That's what I want to know tonight, and we'll continue that chat again tomorrow in Saturday's live.

I also want to know what football-related Christmas gift stories you've got personally.

Mine? My favourite player as a young lad was Georgi Kinkladze, even though I was a Forest fan.

I got the burgundy special (below) in the little magician's honour. My dad made me take it back. Gutting.

Almost as gutting as getting a Harry Potter quiz in the Secret Santa this year. Bluntly, I'm not a fan. If anyone wants it, feel free to message me about that too.

    #bbcefl for all your correspondence.

I've also included that pic of Kinky, Alex Ferguson and Uncle Bulgaria from the Wombles, as I love Geo and 'Wombling Merry Christmas' is my favourite festive tune. Fergie is just there for the craic.
