  8. Accies need wins as well as drawspublished at 15:00 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

Hamilton Academical v St Johnstone (15:00)

Hamilton Academical manager Martin Canning on BBC Radio Scotland: "Ali Crawford has trained this week with no issuse, hopefully it'll be the same again next week and he'll be available for selection next Saturday. He's almost there.

"The boys have been doing their jobs properly and deserve to play again.

"It's about maintaining our focus and giving ourselves the best chance of three points.

"The one thing I've said is we need to try and win games as well - we did that last year, going on decent runs and maybe draw five in a row and you don't get as far as you'd like.

"Wins are so huge in this league. We're playing against a physical, competitive St Johnstone team and we'll need to match that and more to give ourselves the chance of winning the game."

  9. Archibald eyes crucial winpublished at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Kilmarnock v Partick Thistle (15:00)

"We need the victory more and it's important we get the three points today.

"We need to work hard, we have the teams around us in the next few games, so it's important we make up ground today."

  11. Saints still 'thinking positive'published at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

Hamilton Academical v St Johnstone (15:00)

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright on BBC Radio Scotland: "We’re still in a positive mindset.

"We know we have to get better. Too often this season, the opposition haven’t had to work hard to score against us.

"There are things we need to better and look after the basics better.

"When we’ve done that, we’ve proved we’re difficult to beat and a good side.

"We got a point at Celtic, we won at Hibs, but ultimately the level of consistency has been short of what I and the players expect."

    Hearts v Motherwell (15:00)

Hearts manager Craig Levein: "We’ve been frustrated, the players have been frustrated, but I cant fault them for their efforts. Hopefully, we can pick up three points and get off and running.

"We need to score more goals. Our defending’s been excellent, because it tends to be once you start scoring, defending becomes easier.

"I'd like to get to that position. We just keep plugging away. I made a couple of changes today to see if that would help.

"I won’t get that until January because the balance of the team isn’t right.

"I’ll do what I can just now to give ourselves some more attacking options and spend more time in the final third of the park."

  13. Poor records go head-to-headpublished at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Kilmarnock v Partick Thistle (15:00)

Thistle's home defeat by Hibs last weekend left Alan Archibald's side four points adrift of Kilmarnock, Dundee and Ross County at the foot of the table.

However, those three have played one extra game.

Thistle have gone three games without a victory and haven't won any of their last 12 away games in the Premiership.

Meanwhile, Kilmarnock have yet to win any of their eight home league games this season, so a draw appears to be on the cards.

Indeed, Killie have failed to win any of their last five league games against Thistle at Rugby Park.

Thistle have lost only one of their last eight games against Killie in the league - but that came in their last meeting in October.

Indeed, Saints have only beaten Accies once away from home in their last six trips to Douglas Park.

Hearts have won three of the last four fixtures between these sides but lost last time out in August at Fir Park.

The Steelmen have lost on each of their last three visits to Tynecastle, failing to net a single goal while conceding 11.

  18. Dons would not have denied movepublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

Here's more on that interview with Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne about Rangers' failed attempt to take manager Derek McInnes.

"If Derek was 100% convinced it's what he wanted to do, we would have found a way to make it happen," Milne has admitted.

Milne would not have stood in McInnes' way

Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne says he would not have blocked Derek McInnes moving to Rangers if that was what the manager wanted.

More of your reactions to Aberdeen chairman Stuat Milne's interview on Sportsound.

Peter Brown: Ooft. In very diplomatic language, that was pretty outspoken from Stewart. Well done!

Fergie: Rangers fans have broadly disowned that statement and are deeply unhappy with it. Stewart Milne is a decent sort and not too many would disagree with what he said there.

Craig Peggie: As a Rangers man - he’s not wrong. Club made an a**e of it. Should’ve been a statement by chairman Dave King or someone.

  20. Montrose to take advantage?published at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

In League Two, Montrose have the chance to go back to the top of the table as the second-top side host Berwick Rangers.

Peterhead, who took over at the top on goal difference in midweek, have had their game at home to Clyde postponed because of a frozen pitch.

Edinburgh City have a chance to put four points between themselves and bottom side Cowdenbeath, whose game away to Stirling Albion has also been called off.

However, the capital outfit face a tough challenge, away to fourth-place Elgin City.
