Aberdeen chairman Stuart Milne has been speaking to BBC Scotland about the week that was and the interest Rangers showed in Dons manager Derek McInnes.

David Robertson: AFC, its chairman and manager have shown class throughout this nonsense. This whole debacle has at least resulted in the players, the fans the manager, the chairman and the board showing a united front.

Kenny Mitchell:This whole saga could have been put to bed if McInnes had announced he wasn't interested in the Rangers job. He never did that.

Dean Ramsey: Well said Mr Milne, you truly have stepped up again and done exactly what was needed.

  3. Murty wants more of the samepublished at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Rangers v Ross County (15:00)

Coming into this match after back-to-back wins over Aberdeen, interim Ibrox manager Graeme Murty is desperate to kick on.

Speaking to Rangers TV, he said: “We need to keep our standards high and we want as many of our best players in the squad as possible.

“We respect Ross County, we’ll match their energy and organisation, but we have to hold ourselves to our own standards.

“I’ve said to the players, they have set the benchmark, they’ve shown the quality they can play and the tempo they can play at, it’s up to them to go out and show it today.

“I’m looking for that attitude to go and dictate the game, regardless of who we play against.”

  4. No replacement goalkeeper for Wellpublished at 14:33 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

Heart of Midlothian v Motherwell (15:00)

Already bereft of injured striker Louis Moult, Motherwell have named only one goalkeeper in their squad for the trip to Tynecastle.

Northern Irishman Trevor Carson, in fine form of late, is out injured, with deputy Russell Griffiths starting and no recognised keeper on the bench.

Elsewhere, Carl McHugh replaces Peter Hartley and Elliott Frear starts ahead of Craig Tanner.

There are four changes for struggling Hearts, who are without a win in six matches.

Jame Brandon is suspended, with Connor Randall taking his place in defence.

Manuel Milinkovic, Esmael Goncalves and Cole Stockton drop to the bench.

In come midfielders Don Cowie and Lewis Moore, plus striker Kyle Lafferty, who has recovered from a virus.

    Milne disappointed at Rangers statement

Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne has criticised Rangers' statement after Dons boss Derek McInnes rejected an approach to be the Ibrox club's new manager.

Rangers implied that McInnes lacked ambition by his decision.

"I don't think the statement they came out with was befitting of a club like Rangers," he said.

"The other thing that surprised me - when an important statement comes out from a club like Rangers, it should have ownership.

"That shoud have been a statement from somebody with power and authority.

"Nobody attached their name to that statement, which was very disappointing."

More on this story to come.

    Rangers v Ross County (15:00)

Rangers interim manager Graeme Murty makes two changes following last weekend's 2-1 win over Aberdeen.

Bruno Alves replaces the benched David Bates in defence, while Daniel Candeias takes over from the suspended Ryan Jack in midfield. Jack begins a three-match ban.

Fit-again goalkeeper Scott Fox replaces Aaron McCarey for County and captain Andrew Davies is back in defence.

Winger Jim O'Brien and forward Craig Curran also return to the starting line-up.

McCarey, Kenny van der Weg, Ross Draper and Alex Schalk drop to the bench.

Third-top Arbroath's game against Albion Rovers is postponed, so Alloa Athletic have the chance to overtake the Red Lichties as they travel to take on Forfar Athletic, as do East Fife as they host Stranraer.

  12. Five changes for Saintspublished at 14:11 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

Hamilton Academical v St Johnstone (15:00)

Manager of the month Martin Canning keeps faith with the same Accies line-up that took a point from a fiery encounter with Hearts last weekend.

Ali Crawford is still to make his return from the knee injury that has kept him out since late September.

It's a very different story for Saints, who make five alterations after their defeat at Kilmarnock.

In defence, Liam Gordon is replaced with Richard Foster, while David Wotherspoon and Stefan Scougall replace Liam Craig and Paul Paton in midfield.

Striker Steven MacLean's previous knee problems means he will not play on Hamilton's artificial surface.

Graham Cummins drops to the bench, as Michael O'Halloran and youngster Callum Hendry start.

O'Halloran and Foster obviously had no trouble getting to kick-off on time this week after being delayed by a road traffic accident last weekend. No doubt they were on the team bus with plenty time to spare this morning.

  13. Mulumbu makes first Killie startpublished at 14:04 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

Winger Jordan Jones returns from suspension in Killie's only other change, Greg Taylor taking a spot on the bench.

Thistle make only one change for the trip to Ayrshire, with striker Kris Doolan starting in place of Miles Storey, who is among the subs.

  15. Murty remains man in situpublished at 14:01 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Rangers v Ross County (15:00)

It will be intriguing to see if more is said from the Rangers camp today before or after the match against Ross County over Derek McInnes' rejection of their approach.

Caretaker Graeme Murty will again be in charge and admits he would find it hard to turn down the job if he was offered it permanently.

With four wins from six games in his current spell in interim charge, he is certainly doing his cause no harm and it will be improved further if Rangers beat County to overtake Aberdeen again and move into second place in the Premiership.

The club's statement, which questioned McInnes' ambition, has been widely criticised - even by their more ardent fans, as Tom English has highlighted.

  17. 'Nothing to be guilty about' - McInnespublished at 13:57 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes says he rejected an approach from Rangers because he did not want to "tarnish relationships" he had built up at Pittodrie.

Meanwhile, Dundee manager Neil McCann thinks his side didn't deserve to lose 1-0 at Dens Park last night and laughs off a head-to-head confrontation with Aberdeen assistant Tony Docherty.

  18. Watch Aberdeen's Dens Park winnerpublished at 13:54 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

With the shadow of Derek McInnes' possible departure lifted from their shoulders, Aberdeen last night recovered from two defeats by his suitors, Rangers, with a win over Dundee.

Scotland Under-21 centre-half Scott McKenna scored the only goal of the game at Dens Park - his first for the Pittodrie club - to secure the three points that lift the Dons back into second place in the Premiership ahead of Rangers.

It reduces Celtic's lead at the top to four points ahead of the reigning champions' game against Hibernian tomorrow.

  19. Big freeze hits five gamespublished at 13:51 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

The Championship game between Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Falkirk was first to be called off because of freezing temparatures.

After yesterday's postponement, it was rescheduled for Tuesday evening.

Dumbarton v Livingston followed after a morning pitch inspection, but Brechin City v St Mirren survived after Glebe Park was passed fit.

In League One, Albion Rovers v Arbroath bit the dust.

New League Two leaders Peterhead have been denied the chance to extend their lead at home to Clyde, while Stirling Albion's game against bottom side Cowdenbeath has also been postponed.
