Anthony Martial gets a run at Burnley right-back Phil Bardsley, who is immediately calling for back-up from his defensive colleagues.

I expected Man United to come out flying, all guns blazing, and they did exactly that. They were fantastic for the first five to 10 minutes but there's been no goals and Burnley have put the fires out.

Burnley are in this game, Man Utd are trying to break them down but Burnley are standing strong at the moment.

Manchester United are looking flat in attack, slowing up and turning down cul-de-sacs in the final third.

They need something to pep them up. And Alexis is going to be too late for this afternoon.

A slick and speedy counter-attack from Burnley down the right ends with Johann Berg Gudmundsson jagging in and firing straight at David de Gea as he comes under pressure from the defence.

The Clarets are giving as good as they are getting. At least as good.

The first effort at goal from Manchester United is well over the top, but there was some nice movement leading up to it.

Ashley Young's dinked ball over the top is well weighted for Paul Pogba's dart into the area, but the Frenchman can only stab off target on the volley and from an acute angle.

With a bit of low sunlight streaming over the stands and Turf Moor, and Manchester United playing in their grey away shirts, the kit manufacturer has not done anything for the visitors' passing game.

Burnley are finding some space between the lines.

Scott Arfield's neat reverse ball picks out Ashley Barnes, whose shot from 15 yards out is blocked by a lunging defender.

What was supposed to be a minute's silence to remember Burnley fans who died over the past 12 months, in addition to Cyrille Regis, turned into a minute's applause at Turf Moor.

Manchester United fans began singing 'there's only one Cyrille Regis' and many home supporters joined in.

The first sight of goal from either side and it's wasted really by Burnley's James Tarkowski.

The central defender is up from the back for a set-piece and is well picked out in the penalty area, but his header falls between a serious attempt for the far post and a knock-down into an area for one of his team-mates.

Nemanja Matic neatly turns away and out of danger as Ashley Barnes attempts to affect a high press for Burnley.

Nicely done. Manchester United move steadily upfield, but Juan Mata's little stubbed cross is easily gathered by Nick Pope in the Clarets goal.

Ah, excellent.

Phil Jones' first touch is greeted with a chorus of jeers from the home fans. They are not going to forget that he began his career down the road in Blackburn.
