  1. Forrest on firepublished at 13:34 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2017

    HT: Dundee 0-2 Celtic

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Sport Scotland

James Forrest was the standout in that first half and set the tone from the very start.

His goal was extremely well taken, but it was his all-round display that impressed.

The Celtic winger looks so confident and likely to do damage whenever on the ball. Whether it's the manager's influence or a consistent run in the side, Forrest has tapped into something that's raised his level considerably.

He's a player that's often frustrated Celtic supporters. He's blowing that apart right now.

  2. HALF-TIME Dundee 0-2 Celticpublished at 13:25 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2017

It's all too easy for Celtic.

Manager Brendan Rodgers had praised Dundee for trying to play football against his side and counterpart Neil McCann promised his Dark Blues would be adventurous.

But there has been little evidence of that so far and, indeed, the home side might be paying for putting too much emphasis on attack.

They were treading water playing up the slope in that first half.

  5. Champions cruisingpublished at 13:21 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2017

    Dundee 0-2 Celtic

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Sport Scotland

Celtic's tails are up again, but the goal arrived just as Dundee looked to be getting a foothold in the match.

They were beginning to create uncertainty in the final third, but it all evaporated when Griffiths motored towards goal and finished emphatically.

It's Catch 22 for Dundee. They need to get forward but look so open to the counter.

Scott Brown did brilliantly to win the ball back in the middle of the park and, once it was on Leigh Griffiths' left foot, you would put your money on him scoring. It was a wonderful finish

  8. goal

GOAL Dundee 0-2 Celticpublished at 42mins

    Leigh Griffiths

Dundee are their own worst enemies again.

Glen Kamara puts Faissal El Bakhtaoui in trouble and, when Scott Brown wins the ball off the striker, he sets Olivier Ntcham off on a charge towards the home penalty box.

The Frenchman finds Leigh Griffiths with a fine pass and the striker slots home with a clinical left foot that years ago won him a transfer from the Dark Blues to Wolves.

    Dundee 0-1 Celtic

Dundee hand Celtic with a great opportunity to add to their lead.

Darren O'Dea is short with his pass-back to Elliot Parish and Leigh Griffiths steps in to steal the ball.

Fortunately for former Celtic defender O'Dea, Parish comes to the rescue with a double save at the Scotland's striker's feet.

  11. Timely intervention?published at 13:09 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2017

    Dundee 0-1 Celtic

    Martin Dowden
BBC Sport Scotland at Dens Park

The injury interruption might help Dundee regroup as, for the majority of the opening stages, they were firmly on the back foot, although they did seem to be closing Celtic down better.

They've been unable to get forward at all really as the visitors are equally impressive in hunting the ball as they are with it.

  12. Statistics against Dundee fightbackpublished at 13:07 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2017

    Dundee 0-1 Celtic

The statistics show the task facing the Dark Blues if they are to fight back and claim a victory. History is very much against them.

Dundee last beat Celtic at Dens Park in September 1988, since when the Glasgow side have visited 28 times without defeat.

Celtic have won the last five meetings - three at Dens Park - and have gone 31 matches without a defeat by today's hosts.

    Dundee 0-1 Celtic

Both Josh Meekings and Jonny Hayes are unable to continue, with the latter being taken off on a stretcher.

Michael Johnston, the 18-year-old winger, is preparing to come on for Hayes.

    Quote Message

I think this has been James Forrest's best season for Celtic by far. He is a mature player now. He looks stronger. Previously, he seemed to do a bit and then have a mental switch-off but now he seems to be really focused in his game on and off the ball
