  1. Big step for Rangers - Murtypublished at 14:13 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Celtic 0-0 Rangers

Rangers manager Graeme Murty, speaking to Sky Sports: "They had moments in the first half when we were fortunate. I’m really proud of the way the boys stood up to the challenge at a great stadium.

“We could’ve won it but I can’t fault the guys. They gave me everything today.

“I feel we’re at the start of a very big job but that’s a big step. The atmosphere here is second to none and guys who come and play for us have to enjoy this.

"David Bates has not done anything to lose my trust and throwing him in here, there was never a second thought. He excelled.

“There’s little bits that we can improve, we can certainly get better at building the play but in terms of intensity and focus, we were at it. This is a good team we’re playing and we were well worthy of the draw.

“We’re at the start of a long journey but this first step can bring us together."

Partick Thistle v Ross County (15:00)

Dreich doesn’t begin to do the conditions at Firhill justice for this high-stakes match between the Premiership’s bottom two.

Thistle, despite their lowly position, are in good form at home, with four wins from their last five.

Given that County haven’t won in their last eight, Thistle must go into the game as favourites.

Will this be the final match at St Johnstone for on-loan Rangers striker Michael O’Halloran? Has manager Tommy Wright got a hold of his agent yet?

And just how many clubs are interested in signing Dundee defender Jack Hendry?

Plenty of questions this afternoon, but will we get any answers? Dundee haven’t won here since 2014.

  4. We should have won it - Batespublished at 14:07 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    FT: Celtic 0-0 Rangers

Rangers defender David Bates, who came on as an early substitute for Bruno Alves, who is now on crutches, felt his side deserved more than a point.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "We’re disappointed not to go away with three points. They had chances but we had a few in the second half.

“It’s tough coming on in an Old Firm game but I was delighted to get on and get the draw."

Full-back James Tavernier added: “It was one of those games when the ball didn’t go in. The boys put in a very good shift.

“They’re an attacking force, and it was always going to be at tough game, but we kept our shape well."

For Rangers there are huge positives to take from this. It's a great point for them and they have to take confidence from it, but it's against the teams that they're expected to dictate that they have been struggling.

That's the first time Celtic have failed to score at home in a domestic game since 2 March 2016 - also a 0-0 - against Dundee.

It's also their fourth Premiership draw of the season at Parkhead.

They remain 11 points clear of Rangers and have moved nine points ahead of Aberdeen at the top of the Premiership, but the Dons now have a chance to cut that to six heading into the winter break if they can beat Hearts at Pittodrie this afternoon.
