Joel Heritage: I don't want to ruin Newport's mood, but as a Wycombe fan, I can tell you it's the hope that kills you.

    Newport County 1-0 Tottenham

    John Hartson
Former Wales striker on 5 Live

In the opening minutes of this second half Newport just cannot get out. They've given away possession cheaply, it's a a total reverse from the opening half and I hope they don't just sit and absorb pressure now. They have to get out and have that threat going forward as well as defending properly, they can't afford to camp on the edge of their box for 45 minutes because Spurs have the flare to break them down and they do look dangerous.

Joss Labadie concedes a free-kick in a dangerous area.

Kieran Trippier whips the set piece in from the right, but Newport clear.

It comes back out to Trippier and again he whips in a cross which Harry Kane heads over from close range.

  14. 'Upset on the cards'published at 18:24 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2018

    Newport County 1-0 Tottenham

    John Hartson
Former Wales striker on 5 Live

Newport County have been at it from the get-go. Spurs have created very, very little other than a Harry Kane half-chance and, I have to say, I think Newport deserve it.

It's rocking here, when Amond put Newport ahead the roof almost took off on the stand we're on. The desire and their energy levels have been brilliant and if Spurs don't make a change or get more from their players there could be a big upset on the cards here.

You cannot say Newport have not deserved it, they've been first to everything and you cannot deny them their lead.

They need to get to half-time now so Mike Flynn can settle them down again ready for the next 45.

Alex Jeffs: Almond has scored against Tottenham! Newport are going nuts! I’m just glad he came out of his shell. Now might be the time to cashew in your bets. Don’t be salty.

Save some for the rest of us, Alex!

  20. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Newport 1-0 Tottenham

    Newport have their tails up.

Robbie Willmott cross into the box, Spurs should clear but Padraig Amond has time to nip in and shoot from a tight angle, but his strike hits the post.
