Matej Vydra went for power there, rather than placement, and that may have aided Luke Steele's cause.

Johnny Russell battles well along the right byline for Derby and the ball comes back for Tom Lawrence in the area, who shoots, but it's a good save from Luke Steele, tipping it over the top.

A drum is repeatedly banging in the background, with the home fans chanting 'Gary Rowett's barmy army'.

On the touchline, new signing Cameron Jerome is warning up for the hosts.

And it is awfully quiet at Pride Park at the moment.

Jamie Paterson picks up a loose ball on the left wing for Bristol City and plays it inside to Famara Diedhiou, who turns nicely, but his ambitious shot from around 30 yards out bounces well off target.

So, 35 minutes or so to go at Pride Park. The Rams have kept a clean sheet in eight of their last 11 Championship games, conceding just three times.

Can either side find a breakthrough tonight?

I'd say Bristol City look a bit more of a threat going forward so far in this second half.

They had their backs to the wall somewhat, for a 15-minute spell in the first half.

Just to remind you, second-placed Derby have been in fine form since November, winning six of their past eight league games.

In contrast, Carabao Cup semi-finalists Bristol City have lost their past five games in all competitions.

But that includes a last-gasp first-leg loss at Manchester City, who they welcome to Ashton Gate in four days' time.

Game back on at Rodney Parade where Jimmy Smith has volleyed in for Crawley early in the second half to halve the deficit against Newport.

And the visitors make a very positive start to the half, moving the ball well, but Josh Brownhill's far-post shot is straight at Scott Carson.

Now with this more attacking line-up, Bristol City - in their red and white kit - get the game going again.

Bristol City are making two changes at the break. Keeper Frank Fielding, who has a knock, is replaced by Luke Steele.

And on comes record signing Famara Diedhiou - back at last from injury - for Nathan Baker, so the Robins switch to 4-4-2.

Derby dipped into the transfer market this week to bring in striker Cameron Jerome from Norwich City on an 18-month deal.

The 31-year-old, who could make his debut from the bench in the second half this evening, brings plenty of Championship promotion experience with him, having gone up twice with Birmingham City (2007 and 2009) and again with Norwich in 2015.
