Right then, let's get this show on the road. The two teams make their way out onto the turf, complete with anthem jackets and a host of young mascots.

There's plenty of empty seats inside the Macron, but let's not let that put a downer on things. Kick-off is just a few moments away.

Bristol City will be coming up against a couple of familiar faces in the form of Aaron Wilbraham and Mark Little tonight.

The pair left the Robins to join Bolton last summer following memorable stints in Bristol, including winning the League One title and Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Both were hugely popular with the City fans - a feeling that, by all accounts, is very much mutual.

"They came to both legs of the Manchester City tie, including travelling all the way down to support the boys at Ashton Gate," Bristol City midfielder Korey Smith told BBC Radio Bristol.

"Everyone here appreciates and loves what they did for the club. They're a big reason we are where we are now, we've got great friendships and we're looking forward to seeing them - but once we get on the pitch we'll be looking to win the game."

As it happens, a calf injury means Wilbraham misses this game, but Little starts at right back.

Bolton v Bristol City (20:00 GMT)

In total, more than 100 deals involving English Football League clubs went through on Wednesday - I should know, I was one of the hardy souls still here at 00:30 GMT trying to make sure we'd not missed any!

Alas, if you are still catching up on everything that happened on transfer deadline day we've compiled a handy list of every single signing on the BBC Sport website, which you can access by clicking here.

Bristol City's major transfer business was done much earlier in the window, with the arrival of Lois Diony on loan from Saint-Etienne - a man they paid a reported £7m for last summer - the pick of the bunch.

The only two other ins came at the start of the month, with Liam Walsh joining from Everton and Ryan Kent signing on loan from Liverpool.

Perhaps most crucially of all for Lee Johnson, however, was that they managed to keep hold of star players Aden Flint, Joe Bryan and Bobby Reid.

Few Championship clubs had a busier transfer deadline day than Bolton Wanderers, with four ins and one out.

Top goalscorer Gary Madine left the Macron for Cardiff City for £6m - the biggest second-tier deal of the window - but he was replaced by the returning Zach Clough, who arrived on loan.

He was joined by Forest team-mate Tyler Walker, West Ham midfielder Reece Burke and Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan in signing for the rest of the season, while Harry Charsley came in from Everton earlier in the month.

Speaking of deadline day signings, we probably ought to remind you of what both of these teams got up to during the January transfer window...

Bolton v Bristol City (20:00 GMT)

Tyler Walker is the only one of Bolton's four deadline day signings to make his full debut tonight, with Zach Clough and Jon Flanagan named on the bench.

David Wheater starts after passing a late fitness test.

Bolton Wanderers: Alnwick, Little, Dervite, Beevers, Vela, Ameobi, Robinson, Derik, Walker, Henry, Wheater.

Subs: Howard, Taylor, Le Fondre, Buckley, Flanagan, Morais, Clough.

Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson makes just one change, with Josh Brownhill coming in for the suspended Nathan Baker.

Brownhill slots into midfield, Korey Smith drops back to right-back and Bailey Wright moves into the centre of defence.

Bristol City: Steele, Smith, Flint, Wright, Bryan, Paterson, Brownhill, Pack, Kent, Diédhiou, Reid.

Subs: Wollacott, Magnusson, Kelly, Walsh, Eliasson, Engvall, Diony.

Welcome to the first game of the rest of the season, which sees Championship high-flyers Bristol City visit struggling Bolton Wanderers.

The negotiating is over, the deals have been done and the speculation has come to an end.

No more reporters standing outside of training grounds in the freezing cold, no more clocks dramatically ticking down to 23:00 and no more windows supposedly about to slam shut.

Your lot's your lot and it's time to crack on with the football. And, frankly, thank goodness for that.
