Watford midfielder Ben Watson: "In the first half it was pretty even. They got the penalty and obviously that was a turning point. We kept going though, made a couple of substitutes and looked more of a threat. We're going through a tough spell at the minute but there's enough in the squad to get us out of it.

"Sport is 90% confidence but we've got to keep going. Next week we play Southampton in the FA Cup and it'd be great to go on a little Cup run which will help us pick up in the league.

"At 1-0, Andre (Gray) goes through and Maguire makes a good block. If we'd have got that goal we could have gone on to win. It wasn't to be today - we've got to knuckle down, keep going and go again next week."

Manchester United

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says: "If you don't score you are in trouble, they go direct, they are consistent in their approach it is really difficult.

"We defended very well, and it is fair to say Mike Dean and his team were very good. There was a lot of first ball, second ball and the physicality.

"Of course we are happy with him (Anthony Martial), we just want consistency, we know he has the talent."

Asked about Alexis Sanchez coming to Manchester United from Arsenal, Mourinho says: "If you ask me if I think he is coming, I think so, but I have no confirmation."

Leicester goalscorer Jamie Vardy speaking to BBC Sport: "We're playing really well at the moment. Kasper Schmeichel will be delighted with the clean sheets and no doubt he'll be looking at the Golden Glove as a possibility.

"We've created lots of chances, defended resolutely and after we lost against them on Boxing Day when we took the lead, it was important to hold on. It felt great when Riyad finished it off for us at the end."

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace captain Luka Milivojevic: "It's very hard to carry on at 4-0 down - you don't win many times when you are 4-0 down after 20 minutes.

"After half time it was much better. We can take many things from that and make sure we never repeat this again."

And that's what a big win for Stoke has done in the table. Southampton fall into the bottom thee as a result.

Manchester United

Manchester United defender Phil Jones said: "It was certainly a battle and that is what you get when you come to Turf Moor - it is about character and we showed that in abundance today.

"You have seen teams come here all season and drop points, we had to bide our time and when we got our chance thankfully Martial took it.

"We have some fantastic talent in the squad and we need everybody, especially going into a busy period."

Asked if they can catch leaders Manchester City, Jones says: "You never know. In the 2012-13 season we were 12 points clear, it is not going to be easy, but you never say never."

A win at Turf moor trims a bit more fat off the Manchester City lead at the top of the table, while Chelsea and Arsenal both also won today.

It was a fantastic game today. Burnley have asked so many questions of Man United and you can tell from the tremendous atmosphere how pleased their supporters are with how their side played. From United's point of view, they had to be resilient and Jones and Smalling were outstanding. Mourinho knows how much these three points mean and it’s been a professional performance from them.

There is a first Premier League start for 21-year-old Ukrainian Oleksandr Zinchenko - he replaces the injured Fabian Delph in one of two changes for Manchester City. The other sees David Silva return to the XI - he missed last weekend's defeat by Liverpool with a stomach problem - as Ilkay Gundogan drops to the bench.

Newcastle make four changes to the side that started last weekend's 1-1 home draw with Swansea.

DeAndre Yedlin, Matt Ritchie, Ayoze Perez and Dwight Gayle all drop to the bench. In come Manquillo, Jacob Murphy, Isaac Hayden and Joselu.

Arsenal

Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi: "We started with a lot of intensity, that was the key after our last few performances. We showed today that we can move on.
