  1. 'Go out on your sword'published at 17:03 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2018

    Cardiff 0-2 Manchester City

Former Cardiff striker Nathan Blake on BBC One: "Neil Warnock will have one eye on the Championship. I think if he had the choice he would have put a different 11 out today.

"Because of the magnitude of the game I think he's been forced a bit today. They need to do more, press up the field, you may as well go out on your sword."

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC One

It's a straight red. There's no place for that in the game. I'd be surprised if Leroy Sane comes out for the second-half.

  5. Joe Bennett's tackle on Sane...published at 16:58 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2018

    Cardiff 0-2 Manchester City

    Alan Shearer
Former Newcastle striker on BBC One

When we see it on the replay it's naughty, it's nasty and high.

  6. 'People went absolutely crazy'published at 16:57 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2018

    Cardiff 0-2 Manchester City

Nathan Blake remembers when his moment of magic inspired third-tier strugglers Cardiff City to a famous 1-0 victory against Manchester City in the FA Cup fourth round in January 1994.

Cardiff have a lot to do in this second-half if they are to inspire a similarly historic victory.

Sam McHaffie: It's odd to think that some people would prefer Cardiff to play with 11 men after a challenge like that, just because they get bored waiting for a VAR decision. About 30 minutes of an average match is spent waiting around while the ball is dead anyway.

  8. Should Silva's goal have been allowed?published at 16:56 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2018

    Cardiff 0-2 Manchester City

    Alan Shearer
Former Newcastle striker on BBC One

It's a hell of strike. Once he cuts in you know what Bernado Silva wants to do. Leroy Sane is not offside at all so he cant be interfering with play.

For that incident VAR would be perfect as it's fact, not an opinion. In that situation, I am all for it.

  9. 'No news on transfers'published at 16:55 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2018

    Chelsea 3-0 Newcastle

    Chelsea

Antonio Conte speaking to BT Sport: “It was a good performance, after the Carabao Cup game against Arsenal I was disappointed, But at the same time it was a good run in the competition. Last season we were knocked out in the second round, this season we reach the semi-final, though I hoped until end to reach the final. Now it is very important to try and give our best in every competition today, the response was positive, I am happy for players. They have shown me great commitment, a desire to fight."

Asked about transfers he added: “The club has to decide if it is important to add players or not. My only focus in on the pitch and to prepare the team in the right way. If there is any news, the club will inform you."

On Michy Batshuayi’s performance he said: “I am very happy for him and for the team. To score for a striker is important for their confidence.”

We have some reaction from Antonio Conte following that victory for Chelsea earlier...

  11. Man City's opener...published at 16:53 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2018

    Cardiff 0-2 Man City

    Alan Shearer
Former Newcastle striker on BBC One

Top players think differently. They find different ways. That free-kick from De Bruyne is class. He knows exactly what he's doing, great execution, superb.

  13. 'Comfortable'published at 16:52 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2018

    Cardiff 0-2 Manchester City

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

The score is absolutely right. No concerns at all for Man City, a very, very comfortable afternoon and exactly what Pep Guardiola would have wanted.

  14. Red for Bennettpublished at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2018

    Cardiff 0-2 Manchester City

The pundits are all in agreement. Joe Bennett's tackle on Leroy Sane looked very nasty.

Were Lee Mason and co right to disallow Silva's strike?

  16. Get Involvedpublished at 16:49 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2018

    #bbcfacup or 81111 on text

Paul: That's an atrocious tackle. That should have been a straight red card for the Cardiff man. Awful.

Craig: An obvious red card even before the replay, pathetic attempt to tackle.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 16:49 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2018

    Cardiff 0-2 Manchester City

It's not been a great half for Neil Warnock's side. They have had very few opportunities to get forward and Manchester City have been simply formidable.

Joe Bennett was lucky not to be shown a red card though so Cardiff are not completely out of this game.

    Cardiff 0-2 Manchester City

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

    That's a dreadful, dreadful challenge, it's a red card.

That's where we'd like to have video evidence because that's a definite sending off. Horrendous.

  20. 'Should be a red'published at 16:47 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2018

    Cardiff 0-2 Manchester City

    Mark Lawrenson
BBC football expert on BBC One

That should be a red looking at that now. I thought he had flicked his leg. Sane is fortunate to be OK.
