    Brighton 1-0 West Ham

Some Brighton keep ball for 90 seconds or so there and there's no doubt their movement when they have possession is superior. Subtle movements from players here and there see them pull away from their nearest marker to offer just a yard or two of space and open themselves for a pass. West Ham in contrast look laboured.

    Brighton 1-0 West Ham

As you can see, the home side are making the most of edging possession. Much of the game has been played in West Ham's half and it would be fair to say David Moyes' side have not started yet. Mark Noble plays a pass in to touch and that kind of sums up their opening 20 minutes.

    Brighton 1-0 West Ham

Glenn Murray is on the end of a neat bit of passing 25 yards out. He swivels and has one thing in mind... BANG... against the legs of Declan Rice for a corner.

In comes the delivery, fine defensive header in his six-yard box by Angelo Ogbonna.

  4. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Brighton 1-0 West Ham

Anthony Knockaert has been the best player on the pitch so far. A cross from the left sees him pick the ball up at the back stick. His touch is heavy, so he's stretching to shoot and guides the ball over. Half a chance.

  5. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Brighton 1-0 West Ham

Some trouble for James Collins as he has overstretched in intercepting a through ball and will now have to run off a bit of pain.

The game being played exclusively in the West Ham half for now.

With this West Ham shape Cheikhou Kouyaté, Mark Noble and Pablo Zabaleta are all in deep midfield positions. It's not really all too hot so far.

  6. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Brighton 1-0 West Ham

That's three goals in three games for Glenn Murray. He may be 34 but he looks like Brighton's best hope as they look to beat the drop.

They have West Ham on toast at the moment and are pulling away shirts around the pitch with ease.

Jose Izquierdo looks to get in behind after a one-two but he's crowded out.

    Glenn Murray

    Knife through butter.

Javier Hernandez gives the ball away when a pass is fired at him with too much venom. From there, the ball is in the West Ham net within three passes.

Anthony Knockaert gets the ball on the halfway line and is wiped out but the ball rolls to Pascal Gross who sends Glenn Murray clear. He has an age, West Ham are cut open and he slides the shot low past Adrian.

    Brighton 0-0 West Ham

Nice build up from Brighton and they work the ball left to Anthony Knockaert. His ball in is an in-swinger and packs pace but is too close to Adrian. West Ham seem to have a back three, wing backs, two sitting midfielders and then Joao Mario and another midfielder playing up in support of Javier Hernandez. It's a bit odd.

  9. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Brighton 0-0 West Ham

Shane Duffy glances a header well wide as a ball is swung into the box.

It looks like Pablo Zabaleta will be playing in midfield for West Ham, here are the teams if you are just joining us.

Chris Hughton has some facial stubble today, a goatee if you will. He looks concerned because Gaetan Bong has crashed down to earth after a challenge in the air.

A very, very heavy landing and he needs treatment already.

    Brighton 0-0 West Ham

We are off and running on the south coast. The home fans still sing as their side send a ball long and into touch. A Six Nations kick-off...

The players race out onto the pitch, singing from both sets of hands.

"ALLLBBIIONNN... ALLLBBIIIOONNN", rings out from the home contingent.

Chris Hughton goes to shake the hand of Stuart Pearce who is of course now part of West Ham's staff. Time to rumble...

  13. 'How many gloves?'published at 14:56 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February 2018

Brighton v West Ham (15:00 GMT)

West Ham's mascot wears 'Ralph' on his back in the tunnel at Brighton. He's chatting to Adrian and asks "how many gloves do you have?"

The big keeper replies "many, many, I have to train everyday".

Ralph seems blown away by this. Adrian smiles and then turns around and in a Spanish accent yelps "come on boys, come on".

    Ralph looks on in wonder.

    Nice stuff.

Tim Krul here showing us some mighty fine lateral movement before diving onto dribbled shots. I have a feeling they may come at you with a bit more zip that that Tim.

The players vacate the pitch and head inside. In the stands, some Brighton fans wave flags. Modern-day football eh? Wild.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton: "At home would probably be the disappointment that we haven't picked up more wins.

"We have just seen Swansea pick up two outstanding results at home [against Liverpool and Arsenal) that most people probably wouldn't have expected.

"Would they have been able to do that away from home? It would have been a lot harder. Home form will play the biggest part of this end of the season."

Joao Mario is wowing the West Ham social media team with his finishing. To be fair, this is a cracker.

Now Joao, can you do it when it matters?

Brighton v West Ham (15:00 GMT)

Brighton's official Twitter account has posted a message saying it's good to be at home.

That may be an understatement. They've only lost here three times this season.

Frame that against the fact they have one win in 14 league matches and it tells you they'd far rather be scrapping to put things right on home turf.

It will be a while until we see David Moyes' side at full strength because of the injury problems they have.

That is one of the reasons I am going for a Brighton win here. The Seagulls have been struggling when they play away, and their home form is what is going to give them a chance of staying up, so this game is very important.

    Prediction: 2-1

The return of Leo Ulloa to Brighton could prove one of the best signings of the window.

Back on loan at the club where he scored 26 goals in 58 games and is hugely popular, he can cure their current scoring blight. Just seven goals and one win in 14 league games is relegation form. This is a must-win game.

West Ham can't afford to lose either. Injuries have left their squad weak. But under David Moyes their resolve is strong.

Given their problems, it's strange they sent three players out on loan and sold Andre Ayew. It's also a big step up for Jordan Hugill.

    Ulloa is the key here.

Those teams mean January signings Leonardo Ulloa and Jordan Hugill only make the bench. Can one of them come on to thrill their fans by making a key impact?
