Newcastle have started very well, the majority of the game has been played in the Manchester United half.

Mo Diame and Jonjo Shelvey have done well in midfield, won many of the second balls.

But the visitors have been a threat on the counter, especially down Newcastle’s right-hand side. Decent game and Newcastle will be pleased.

Still just the one Jonjo Shelvey shot on target to report in the opening quarter of the game, Manchester United now having loads of possession but struggling to create much.

The St James' crowd has now fallen rather quiet.

Anon: Anthony Martial should so obviously be the Man Utd centre forward. It's like they're playing with 10 when Romelu Lukaku's on the pitch.

Nice from the Newcastle keeper Martin Dubravka, who is outside of his area to meet a long ball over the top and neatly bumps off a pass into his back four. All very calm and controlled and the crowd like that.

Manchester United are slowly gaining control. Romelu Lukaku drops deep to get on the ball and he releases Alexis Sanchez down the left with a fine ball. The ball comes back in, and Lukaku miskicks from 10 yards out, screwing wide.

Romelu Lukaku has touched the ball three times so far.

Better from Manchester United as Anthony Martial breezes past his man into the area, but his cutback is well cleared at the near post. The first moment of danger for the hosts.

Newcastle could hardly have wished for a better start. They are swarming all over the men in red, Mo Diame switching the ball to the left and Kenedy going for a very ambitious first-time volley which cannons into the body of team-mate Dwight Gayle.

Great save, great reactions from David de Gea, especially as Jonjo Shelvey isn’t far from goal when he hits it. Newcastle have started the game very well.

A really bright start from the hosts, Mo Diame robbing Nemanja Matic on the edge of his own area and Ayoze Perez swivelling to shoot wide first time.

He actually had more time and could have taken the ball on. But it's got the home crowd rocking early doors...

Newcastle have a free-kick, Dwight Gayle duffs it into the wall but it runs into the path of Jonjo Shelvey.

He middles his shot, lovely clean striker heading into the top corner but David de Gea makes a flying one-handed stop.

You do know that decision went the way of Rafa, right?

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe:

"Credit to Huddersfield they did well today. They put us under pressure and we never got out of a rut and conceded some soft goals. Collectively we weren't good today and individually we weren't good. The goals [we conceded] epitomised our performance really.

"We scored a great goal ourselves, which we had to work really hard for and that was the only bright spark. We tried to wrestle the game away from them and they scored the third goal and that was the game.

"We should look as hungry if not hungrier than them, that's no excuse for us. Every game should be treated as a cup final."

Inside a minute Anthony Martial is down holding his face after a challenge from Mo Diame - looked like an unintentional finger in the eye.

It's a very attacking XI from the visitors. Martial is joined by Lingard, Lukaku and Sanchez.

Huddersfield boss David Wagner: "We had difficult fixtures behind us and now starts games when we can be competitive. The boys started that in the Cup. We needed a few minutes at the start where Bournemouth were strong but after that we played superb football. It was one of the performances of the season.

"It was our idea to press the opponent high up the pitch and win the ball. It was a fantastic afternoon for us."
