Matt: Amazed to see any criticism of Pickford. Has been comfortably one of our best players in a difficult season... Everton fans should not have nice things.

Anon: Without Pickford we'd be knocking around with West Brom. He's playing behind the worst Everton back four for as long as I can remember. Even Big Nev would struggle to dominate with this defence.

  4. 'The quality has been lacking'published at 18:19 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2018

Jordan Pickford found the pass of the game to put Oumar Niasse in down the left. What followed was wasteful though, it was a poor attempted pass inside.

The quality has been lacking in the first half from both sides. There is no cutting edge at all.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:16 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2018

Ref Anthony Taylor blows for half-time.

    Sadly, not full-time.

Jordan Pickford rushes out of his goal to prevent Gerard Deulofeu getting to the ball first... but is it a good option?

    It is.

    So that's that.

One min of added time. Well done ref.

Anon: Without Pickford's ability this season Everton would comfortably be in the bottom 3. Without a doubt he should be England starting keeper, He just won England U21 player of the year!

Anon:For the first time in years we have a keeper who's prepared to come and get the ball and dominate his box. Great signing and should be England's No 1 for years to come

Niall: Everton haven’t strung 3 passes together all game. We look so shaky that if we concede 1, we will concede at least 3.

Anon: This Watford team need to be in the Championship ASAP. Some of this is just clown football at the moment.

  11. 'Everton's distribution not good enough'published at 18:13 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2018

    Watford 0-0 Everton

If Everton can get the first goal it will really put the pressure on Watford. All their best work has come through Gerard Deulofeu, everything is going through him.

Up to now though back to front distribution has not been good enough.

It flies straight into the hands of Jordan Pickford - that surely makes him England's number one.

Pick the bones out of that ones.

Idrissa Gueye takes out Richarlison who careers into Troy Deeney on the edge of the area - what a spectacle.

The resulting free-kick is struck by Gerard Deulofeu - and in keeping with the lack of quality - hits the wall.

Moments later, Oumar Niasse takes one in the head. He looks groggy and comes off.

    Oh look, he's back on.

Having watched him every week, wouldn't want Pickford anywhere near England team. Too many positioning errors, missed saves and awful on the deck.

I am an Everton fan but I do not think Pickford is the right choice for England. His shot stopping is OK but catching and decision making and positioning isn't as great as you would think

Michael Keane won the ball for Everton and he catches Abdoulaye Doucouré with his follow through but you can't stop once you are committed to the tackle.

    It's a modern day complaint.
