  1. Vote for your favourite January signingpublished at 15:16 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

This morning we asked for you to vote for the player you felt had made the biggest impact after arriving in the Premier League last summer.

The clear winner was Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, with Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson second.

Our latest vote might well be a little tighter - we want to know which is the best transfer so far this month.

And let's face it, there are plenty of contenders.

Manchester City fans are happy for him to leave, Everton fans don't want him... Where will Eliaquim Mangala end up come the end of the window?

  3. Woodman on the move?published at 15:15 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    BBC Sport Scotland

Aberdeen are confident of signing the Newcastle goalkeeper Freddie Woodman on a loan deal before tonight’s transfer deadline.

Woodman impressed during a similar spell at Kilmarnock last season and the England U21 international is held in high regard by his club.

The 20-year-old made his Magpies debut during their FA Cup win over Luton earlier this month.

He will be on the Newcastle bench for their English Premier League match against Burnley but the Dons are hopeful he will sign for them once that game is over.

  4. Premier League Powell?published at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

Danny Murphy was very complimentary on Match of the Day on Saturday when discussing the performance of Nick Powell in their FA Cup win over West Ham.

    Perhaps too impressive?

Powell has been linked with four Premier League clubs today. Brighton have apparently already failed with a bid.

  6. A January move difficult for players?published at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

Edin Dzeko moved from Wolfsburg to Manchester City in January 2011 and did well despite moving from another country. Not every player is the same, however

Helping a new signing settle into the club can be tricky, especially if they are coming from a different country and culture.

"It's definitely a more intense transition for a player in January," says Simon Wilson, who has worked behind the scenes at Manchester City, Sunderland, and Southampton.

"Emotionally you start your season in one place and end it in another - coming to a new country, a new city, another set of colleagues and management.

"It's much easier when you can anticipate and prepare for it a little better. In January, you are straight into games."

  9. Uneventful at Bournemouthpublished at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth’s transfer window thus far has been uneventful which is hardly surprising.

Eddie Howe has continually stressed that he doesn’t feel the need to strengthen during this mid-season window, despite the season so far being one of struggle for the Cherries.

Another defender and a central midfielder would be top of most supporters wish lists and deep down, probably the managers too, although signing the right player for the right fee is notoriously difficult in January.

As far as outgoings are concerned, I would be surprised if Howe let anyone leave, but the rumours regarding Benik Afobe aren’t abating and it wouldn’t be a Bournemouth transfer window without Lewis Grabban being involved in a deal somewhere either.

  10. More moves for the Imps?published at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

James Williams, BBC Radio Lincolnshire: You’ve probably seen that Lincoln have signed Tom Pett from Stevenage.

"This is the first of a few deals we’re expecting Lincoln City to complete today.

"Danny Cowley wants to strengthen his forward line so a striker is likely to sign for the Imps before the 11pm deadline tonight.

"There may be a couple of other additions which could lead to some players leaving Sincil Bank as well."

  16. Relieved to miss out on Mitrovicpublished at 14:33 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Aleksandr Mitrović agreeing to sign on loan for Anderlecht from Newcastle finally ends the speculation surrounding him moving to the Amex from Newcastle. Can't say I'm too disappointed. Team spirit and a sense of togetherness has played a huge part in Brighton's success over the last couple of seasons and it was hard to see how Mitrović would be our cup of tea in that regard. Chris Hughton doesn't tolerate poor attitudes lightly and sorting out the Serb striker in that area would probably be a step too far for even Challenge Anneka. Eeee. Remember Oscar? Chelsea could still do with him now, right? Oscar or Ross Barkley - who would you prefer?

  18. Oscar to Shanghai - £60mpublished at 14:29 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Biggest January moves

This time last year we had a surprise move away from the Premier League as Chelsea midfielder Oscar headed to China in an eye-watering £60m move.

The Brazilian was a good player for the Blues in his time, contributing 21 Premier League goals and 19 assists in four-and-a-half seasons, but they could hardly say no at that price.

We thought it may be the start of Chinese dominance in the market but that hasn't really happened, thanks largely to a change in rules and a 100% transfer tax.

  19. 'Dzeko staying put'published at 14:27 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2018

    Chelsea

    Edin DzekoImage source, Getty Images

Roma sold defender Emerson Palmieri to Chelsea last night and their managing director Mauro Baldissoni has been speaking to the media.

The Serie A club's director says a medical is currently under way for Palmieri's replacement but he has also had some interesting things to say on Edin Dzeko, another player linked with a move to Stamford Bridge during this window.

“If Roma had needed to sell Edin Dzeko, we could have pushed to do so," he said.

"Instead, the club maintained a clear position. We did not panic, we did not try to accelerate negotiations. Edin is a great player and we are happy that he is staying here.”

    That's that then.
