Inverness CT manager John Robertson talking to BBC Radio Scotland: "For us the key moment was just before half time. It's a penalty kick. You can see the incident. We lost two identical ones on Saturday where the defender thinks he's getting there and Aaron Doran has gone and nicked in front of him, he's brought down. Anywhere else on the pitch, it's a foul.

"I think the referee took the easy option. To book Aaron just adds insult to injury. It's a penalty kick, everyone is saying it. Even their players, you can see by their reactions. We're really disappointed but the referee calls it as he sees it. But not to give it and to book the player is a double whammy.

"Second half they got their goal. It's a poor goal from us.

"We feel we're hard done by, but that's football. That's cup football. We've went toe-to-toe with a Premiership team over two legs and not looked out of place. In fact, over the piece probably a wee bit unlucky."

Sixteen-year-old Harry Cochrane scored the opening goal in a wonderful performance when Hearts halted Celtic's run in December.

Tonight, the teen midfielder was taken to hospital following a collision with Scott Brown that left Hearts manager Craig Levein none too happy.

"I think in the last game, Harry had a really good match and on a few occasions he got the better of Scott Brown," Levein told BBC Sportsound.

"I think Scott had made up his mind that Harry wasn’t going to do that again.

"I haven’t had a look at the challenge but he’s away to hospital. He’s got a problem with his neck and we’re just hoping that he’s fine.

"I just thought that Scott had it in mind; I’m not saying there were any particularly wild challenges. Young Harry has to accept that that’s part of the game and I’m sure he’ll learn from it."

On the result, the Tynecastle boss admits he has "no complaints."

Levein added: "We didn’t have enough sustained pressure. We gave the ball away too cheaply in the middle of the park and when we did get opportunities to break, we made the wrong decision.

"When they’re at their best they are very difficult to play against. People have said they’ve been off the boil a little bit – they had some extra incentive to try and prove a point and they were better than us, so I’ve got no complaints."

Might Celtic be lining up a swoop for Dundee goalkeeper Scott Bain, who joined Hibernian on loan earlier this month?

Brendan Rodgers is keen to snap up another keeper before the January window shuts, with Craig Gordon out injured.

"Lots of names have been thrown at me throughout the window," he said.

"We need to get another keeper in. I thought on that front Dorus de Vries was very calm and cool tonight and very good.

"But we need another keeper in and I’m sure by tomorrow evening we’ll have another keeper in here and one that is ready to compete for his position."

It's time up for Anthony Stokes and Hibs. The striker's third spell with the Edinburgh side ends on a rather sad note after rumours of off-field issues. The 29-year-old has scored 11 goals this season and will always be a hero among the fans for his two goals in the Scottish Cup final win of 2016 but it seems manager Neil Lennon has run out of patience.

He is leaving the club by "mutual consent", so he'll be a free agent.

Dundee manager Neil McCann talking to BBC Sportsound: "It was a tough game and it's all about getting through. Now we have a home tie with Motherwell to look forward to.

"It was a class finish from Scott Allan, really composed.

"It's always tough to take a player off at half time but Lewis Spence came on and changed the game, allowing Scott Allan a bit more freedom."

On potential deadline day signings, McCann adds: "Hopefully we can do some business."

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers on BBC Sportsound: "I thought we were very, very good this evening.

"We started the game very well with a real intensity in our game and I thought we showed real power in our performance. We created lots of chances, second-half our final pass probably let us down a bit and in the final finish. But there are no complaints; we were outstanding in every facet of our game.

"It’s a physical test and we were founding wanting in that aspect at Tynecastle (in the 4-0 defeat) – it wasn’t going to happen this time. We had that power and that strength and pace in the team, and you could see that in the performance.

"Just before Christmas we played Hibs and Hearts and got one point from the six. Now, new year, new intensity, and we got six from six, so that pleases me."
