Celtic have quite simply dismantled Hearts in the first half here in the east end of Glasgow. They’ve fought for everything, been slick and precise with their passing and have shown as real desire to push forward at every opportunity. It’s already a night to forget for Hearts. The home side are in complete command, with goals from Odsonne Edouard, Dedryck Boyata and Moussa Dembele.

"That came from a very strong tackle from Brown on young Cochrane. Tierney did so well on the by-line, played the dummy, dragged it inside, and there was Dembele with the faintest of touches to take it past the goalkeeper.

Just to rub salt in the Hearts' wound, Harry Cochrane cannot continue after that challenge from Scott Brown. The teenager is holding his shoulder as he trudges off, with Prince Buaben his replacement.

Hearts are really creaking at the back as the waves of Celtic attacks keep coming. This time a defender in maroon gets a toe to the ball just as Moussa Dembele looks to crack in a shot.

There are a few areas of the pitch at the Caledonian Stadium that are chopping up a fair bit, particularly one area just outside Dundee's box. Not ideal for Jack Hendry and Kerr Waddell as they try to keep an eye on Caley Thistle forward George Oakley, who's been a handful.

"Hearts will be very disappointed they were outnumbered. The hallmark of Hearts in the last few games is being defensively very sound and structured.

"I know Boyata stayed up after the set-play, but Mitchell, I'm not even sure he knew Forrest was on his shoulder. He's got to attack the ball and he was beaten in the air

"It was a lovely lay-off from Dembele and a very composed finish from the Belgian centre-half."

Stunning build up for that Celtic goal. Deft touch from Dembele to slip Boyata in. The Belgian international shows all the composure of a fine centre-forward to slot under McLaughlin. Can’t see any way back for the Jambos with Celtic playing like this.

"Oh, Dembele should've done better," shouts Pat Bonner, as the French striker shoots straight at Jon McLaughlin from close range.

"He was probably taken by surprise because the ball was punched clear by McLaughlin, Kouassi went in and won it and ricocheted it to Dembele.

"It just bounced up on him, and McLaughlin was out quickly blocking, but it was a big, big chance."

Michael Stewart adds: "It probably did surprise him, but Moussa Dembele in full flow puts that in the net.

"Although you've got to give credit to McLaughlin - he's been a very, very good acquisition for Hearts and he's out very quickly - but Dembele in top form puts that in the back of the net."

Big chance for Moussa Dembele as the ball drops to the striker in front of goal but he can't squeeze the ball past goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin, who did well to react swiftly and close down the angles.

It's feisty. Kyle Lafferty, getting plenty of stick from the home crowd for his Rangers past, is booked for a hack at Kieran Tierney.

Celtic looking very much like a side on a mission tonight. Their tempo is high and passing crisp. Edouard is looking lively after his goal. Hearts so far failing to turn it into a battle.

This was the moment Odsonne Edouard slammed the ball past Jon McLaughlin to put Celtic ahead after less than three minutes.
