  1. Musonda to make his mark?published at 19:12 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2018

    Celtic v Hearts (19:45)

Brendan Rodgers dipped into the transfer market yesterday with the loan capture of Chelsea's Charly Musonda.

The 21-year-old Belgian is on the bench tonight, with the manager saying: "I'm sure we'll probably see him at some stage. "Over the next 18 months, he'll get plenty of games."

The Celtic boss also wants another keeper after Craig Gordon's injury blow but Motherwell were not tempted by the £200,000 on offer for Trevor Carson.

Will Celtic return with a second bid or look elsewhere for cover?

  2. Celtic players stung by 'sore' defeatpublished at 19:09 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2018

    Celtic v Hearts (19:45)

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers talking to BBC Sportsound: "I'd be lying to say it (the 4-0 loss) is not in the minds of the players. It was a sore one. Hearts were better than us on the day and deserved their win.

"We move on and the response has been brilliant - six clean sheets in seven games.

"This will be a tough game. It's a much bigger pitch here and Hearts might want to sit in more and look to counter attack. As always, we look to play at speed and be aggressive in our pressing and be unpredictable in the final third."

  3. No hangover from Tynecastle trouncingpublished at 19:06 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2018

    Celtic v Hearts (19:45)

The defeat at Tynecastle remains the only domestic blemish in manager Brendan Rodgers' record, with Celtic responding to the setback in emphatic style.

Since then they are unbeaten in seven, winning six of those, conceding just one goal along the way.

Celtic are 11 points clear at the top of the Premiership as they look for a seventh consecutive title.

A lot of you have been getting in touch about where the home of Scottish football should be...

    Stewie Escobar: Murrayfield

Sam Taylor: Keep it at Hampden - view at Murrayfield behind the goals is awful and worse than Hampden!!!!

Jason Duncan: Murrayfield, far bigger and a better stadium and it's in the capital where a national team should play.

Clark Mitchell: Being a traditionalist I say Hampden. Redevelop it for the future though. Hampden has always been our home.

Derek Mackay: Was all for moving to Murrayfield but concerned as they were saying the money of football gates will go towards rugby. That cant be good for already poor Scottish football. Spend money on Hampden instead.

    Hampden or Murrayfield?

The thing we lack in Scotland is a 35,000-seat stadium. How about trying to redevelop Hampden and make the capacity lower and use Murrayfield and Hampden? We don’t want to be hostages to the history of Hampden, we need to look forward to what is best for the game. I don’t think Hampden is fit for purpose. Behind the goals at Murrayfield, the area is too big, the main stand is far from the pitch, but there is a lot more going for Murrayfield than Hampden, with the transport links.

  6. Lafferty back to lead the line for Heartspublished at 18:58 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2018

    Celtic v Hearts (19:45)

Hearts striker Kyle Lafferty returns from a three-game ban and there are also places for David Milinkovic, who scored twice in the 4-0 rout, Don Cowie, Connor Randall and Harry Cochrane.

Steven Naismith has to settle for a place among the substitutes.

  7. Gordon & Griffiths sidelined for Celticpublished at 18:57 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2018

    Celtic v Hearts (19:45)

Celtic make four changes, two of them enforced, with goalkeeper Craig Gordon and striker Leigh Griffiths both injured in Saturday's 1-0 win over Hibs.

Griffiths broke down with another calf problem after scoring, while Gordon has suffered some serious damage to his knee after clattering into Efe Ambrose. The goalie is facing up to three months on the sidelines, while the striker is looking at a four-week recovery period.

Eboue Kouassi, Odsonne Edouard and Moussa Dembele come in along with goalkeeper Dorus De Vries, with Scott Sinclair and Callum McGregor dropping to the bench.

Stuart Armstrong, Patrick Roberts and Tom Rogic are also out with injuries at the moment.

The Scottish FA will choose between Hampden and Murrayfield as the home of the national team this summer. The current Hampden lease expires after the stadium is used for Euro 2020.

A proposal to hold international matches and cup finals at Celtic Park or Ibrox was rejected at a specially convened board meeting today.

  11. Celtic look for paybackpublished at 18:45 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2018

    Celtic v Hearts (19:45)

Revenge is in the air for Celtic.

Eight days before Christmas, Hearts stunned the champions and most observers of Scottish football with a thumping 4-0 win at Tynecastle.

That resounding result ended Celtic's long domestic unbeaten run at 69 games, having eclipsed their own 100-year-old British record of 62.
