Shrwesbury are ahead inside the opening quarter hour against Gillingham

It's Abu Ogogo who has got the breakthrough.

That goal will take the Shrews back to the top of League One if it stays like this.

    Barnsley 0-1 Burton

Any sign of a response from Barnsley after Burton's first-minute opener?

You'd have thought the hosts might be fired up for their first game under a new head coach, but instead it's their opponents who are having all of the possession.

The Tykes have not had a single shot in the first 15 minutes.

    Brentford 0-0 Birmingham

Another chance for Brentford striker Neal Maupay, but he steers his effort just wide.

At the other end, Craig Gardner has fired over from 30 yards out.

    Nottingham Forest 0-0 Reading

It's end to end stuff at the City Ground.

A few minutes after Chris Martin spurned a glorious chance for visitors Reading, Ben Brereton has the ball in the net at the other end.

The assistant's flag was up though, as Brereton was in an offside position when he met Kieran Dowell's cross.

  5. Postpublished at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2018

    Aston Villa 0-0 Preston

Based on league position, Aston Villa's game against visiting Preston should be one of the best on offer tonight.

It's not working out that way so far, as chances have been few and far between in the first 10 minutes.

Preston keeper Declan Rudd has made the only save of the night to deny Birkir Bjarnason.

  6. Postpublished at 19:55 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2018

    Sheffield United 0-0 QPR

How on earth are Sheffield United not ahead?

John Lundstram smashes the ball towards goal, but Alex Smithies does brilliantly to palm it away.

Leon Clarke's follow up is then cleared off the line by Nedum Onuoha. Madness.

  7. Postpublished at 19:54 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2018

    Millwall 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

It's been a cagey opening few minutes at The Den.

Ben Marshall has just come close for the hosts, firing narrowly past the post.

Millwall are looking to extend their 10-match unbeaten run at home in all competitions.

  8. Postpublished at 19:52 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2018

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Hull

Middlesbrough's season has been stop-start so far, but they're still just four points outside the play-offs.

You'd expect them to be in the mix at the end of the season.

Three points against relegation-threatened Hull City is a must tonight though you feel.

  9. Postpublished at 19:52 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2018

    Nottingham Forest 0-0 Reading

    Big chance for Reading!

On-loan striker Chris Martin should probably give the Royals the lead at Nottingham Forest, but instead he spoons Leandro Bacuna's cross over the bar from just a few yards out.

  10. Postpublished at 19:51 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2018

    Brentford 0-0 Birmingham

The hosts have had the better start at Griffin Park.

Bees joint-top scorer Neal Maupay has two early openings.

First the Frenchman has a shot blocked inside the area and then he shoots wide from 20 yards.

  11. Postpublished at 19:50 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2018

    Sheffield United 0-0 QPR

Great chance for the Blades to go ahead, but George Baldock fluffs his lines.

Alex Smithies parries the ball out to the full-back, but Baldock blazes wide.

    Poor.

Dell: Sunderland will be relegated they are shocking. Paying the price for spending above their means to survive in the PL year after year.

Sam: Sunderland are in absolute free fall. Don’t think Burton have enough quality and same applies to Barnsley. I think we (Bolton) will stay up by the skin of our teeth, it will come down to the last game of the season with 3/4 teams and Barnsley will be the unfortunate ones.

  13. goal

GOAL: Barnsley 0-1 Burtonpublished at 19:46 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2018

    Jamie Allen (1 min)

    What a start!

Jose Morais' life as Barnsley boss gets under way in disastrous fashion.

His Tykes side are behind less than a minute after kick-off as Burton's Jamie Allen smashes the ball into the top corner of the net from 25 yards out.

  14. KICK-OFFpublished at 19:45 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2018

The teams are out, the fans are in their seats, and seven Championship games are getting under way.

Which team will be the first to make their mark on the scoresheet?

  15. Crunch game for Black Catspublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2018

    Bolton v Sunderland (20:00 GMT)

It really is a big one at the Macron Stadium tonight, where two clubs who were once mainstays in the Premier League are battling to stay in the second tier.

Bolton may only have one win in their last six but are at least outside of the relegation zone at the moment.

But visitors Sunderland have spent most of the last 5 months mired in the bottom three and are three points from safety.

Chris Coleman's appointment in November has not inspired much of a revival from the Black Cats, who have taken four points from a possible 21 on offer so far in 2018.

  16. Can Clarke end lean spell?published at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2018

Sheff Utd v QPR (19:45 GMT)

Sheffield United got their play-off bid back on track after beating Leeds 10 days ago, then were knocked out of the FA Cup by Leicester on Friday.

Among their ranks they boast the second highest scorer in the Championship this season, Leon Clarke, with 15 goals.

But the 33-year-old has only found the back of the net once in his last 10 appearances.

Can he find his shooting boots to help the Blades put QPR to the sword?

Rangers have been a team of extremes recently, winning four of their last eight in the league, but losing the other four.

  17. Will Forest end goal drought?published at 19:34 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2018

Nottm Forest v Reading (19:45 GMT)

    Aitor KarankaImage source, Empics

This one is a meeting of two more clubs who'll be wanting to move away from the bottom of the table and reach safety as soon as possible.

Nottingham Forest have slipped down the table since Aitor Karanka was appointed last month.

With one win from his first six games the Reds find themselves eight points above the drop zone.

Forest have failed to score in their last four Championship games, and are enduring a 407-minute goal drought stretching back to their 2-0 win at Wolves on 20th January.

Reading were beaten play-off finalists last season but have spent most of this campaign languishing in the bottom half.

Boss Jaap Stam is still in charge, but one victory in 11 league games and being four points ahead of 22nd place will not fill the Dutchman with much joy.

Millwall are on their best run of form in the Championship since 2014, going six games unbeaten.

The Lions are well clear of the relegation scrap, having been promoted from League One via the play-offs last season.

But, one of the main talking points at The Den in recent weeks has been the return of veteran Tim Cahill, who is looking to build his fitness up with a view to representing Australia in a fourth World Cup.

The 38-year-old has been limited to two cameo appearances from the bench so far, and is among the substitutes again in south east London.

Sheffield Wednesday have reached the fifth round of the FA Cup - with a replay to come against Premier League Swansea, but their progress in the competition has masked a decline in the league.

The Owls have only won one of their past eight in the second tier, and are nine points above the relegation zone.
