Plymouth have been on an incredible run but they trail at home to fellow play-off chasers Bristol Rovers, who are ahead thanks to a curling Chris Lines (pictured) free-kick.

Oxford and MK Dons are scrapping for points at the other end of the table and they both lead in their respective home games against Peterborough and Bury.

AFC Wimbledon have the early advantage away against another struggling side in Rochdale. Deji Oshilaja's strike is the difference.

In the excitement of all those goes going in, I forgot to mention one that didn't.

Leon Clarke ought to have given Sheffield United an advantage against Nottingham Forest, but the striker planted a header wide from two yards out.

Shrewsbury can take advantage of the fact both of the top two are not in action today and go second in the table.

A draw will do, but it's not going well so far.

A Josh Morris free-kick has put Scunthorpe ahead at a windswept Glanford Park after eight minutes.

Blackburn's game has been called off and Wigan are in FA Cup action on Sunday.

    Sunderland 0-0 Preston

Not much to report so far from the Stadium of Light.

The conditions aren't particularly conducive to a flowing game of football, and as yet neither side has worked a proper opportunity.

The first chance at St Andrew's goes the way of the hosts.

Hull give the ball away at the back, allowing Che Adams through on goal, but Allan McGregor gets down quickly to make the save.

What drama at the end of the Nottinghamshire derby as Kane Hemmings' penalty in the ninth minute of stoppage time earns Mansfield a point at fellow promotion-chasers Notts County from a 1-1 draw.

Lincoln City's play-off challenge is also still on track with a 3-1 win over Grimsby, with all three of the Red Imps' goals coming within the space of seven first-half minutes just after the half hour.

  16. What's on the menu in League One and Twopublished at 14:59 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2018

With League One leaders Blackburn Rovers' trip to Gillingham postponed and Wigan in FA Cup quarter-final action this weekend, third-placed Shrewsbury can climb back into the automatic promotion places if they can get a result at play-off chasing Scunthorpe.

At the other end, MK Dons v Bury and AFC Wimbledon's trip to Rochdale are big games at the bottom of the table.

In League Two, leaders Accrington host Forest Green and second-placed Luton are at Newport County.

The bottom two, Barnet and Chesterfield, need to start picking results up quickly but face tricky fixtures against promotion-chasing Wycombe and mid-table Cheltenham respectively.

It’s been a miserable old season for Sunderland, and they have very few games left to turn it around.

Chris Coleman has been unable to stop the Black Cats’ slide towards a second successive relegation since leaving his job as Wales boss to take charge at the Stadium of Light in November.

Five points away from safety with only 27 points left to play for, things won’t get any easier for the hosts today as they play host to a Preston side still harbouring play-off ambitions.

If Brentford can beat Middlesbrough at Griffin Park, Sheffield United will be looking to take advantage.

The Blades are aiming for a fourth successive home win today, knowing that victory over Nottingham Forest coupled with a Boro defeat would take them back into the top six.

Unbeaten in six games, the Reds look to have assured themselves of safety, but they’ll hopefully still be looking to attack, having played out two successive goalless draws.
