Third-placed Shrewsbury appear to be wasting a glorious opportunity to go second in League One. They trail Scunthorpe 1-0 and Shrews keeper Dean Henderson has also had to save a penalty from goalscorer Josh Morris (pictured).

Bristol Rovers are 2-1 up away at fellow promotion-hopefuls Plymouth and Rotherham are also enjoying a road trip. They lead Northampton 1-0, with Michael Smith on target.

Elsewhere, Portsmouth are 2-0 up at Oldham, Oxford lead Peterborough 1-0 and third-from-bottom MK Dons are 1-0 to the good against basement side Bury.

    Brentford 1-1 Middlesbrough

Neal Maupay has been a bit wasteful for Brentford this afternoon.

The French forward's latest chance ends with him firing straight at Darren Randolph from 15 yards.

Ollie Watkins went ever so close to getting the Bees' second goal moments earlier, with in-form Middlesbrough looking a tad shaky this afternoon.

  5. League One latestpublished at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2018

Dean Henderson has saved a penalty for Shrewsbury, but League One's third-placed team still trail Scunthorpe 1-0.

Josh Morris was the guilty man, so he is still on 12 goals for the season.

Elsewhere, Plymouth had got back on terms against Bristol Rovers at Home Park, but Ellis Harrison has restored Rovers' advantage. It's 2-1 to the visitors.

    Birmingham 1-0 Hull

Birmingham should be two or three goals ahead after a terrific first-half performance.

Che Adams is denied twice more by Hull keeper Allan McGregor, before the striker fires over the bar.

Hull will be thrilled if they are only one down at the break.

Not a bad way to mark your first league start of the season, Lewis Macleod.

The Scottish midfielder fires in his first Brentford goal from 20 yards out after being set up by Florian Jozefzoon.

    Play-off hopes alive again?

  14. League One latestpublished at 15:35 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2018

    Sheffield United 0-0 Nottingham Forest

I'm not ignoring you, I promise.

Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest just aren't doing a huge amount, perhaps unsurprisingly so given the Reds have drawn their past two games 0-0.

The Blades have two shots on target so far, while Forest have none.

    It's not thrilling.

    Birmingham 1-0 Hull

From bad to better for Birmingham.

The Blues are forced into their first change due to an injury to Craig Gardner, Cheikh N'Doye coming on.

The injury doesn't affect their dominance in the match though, Lukas Jutkiewicz denied by a wonderful save by Allan McGregor, who parries the ball away from the top corner.

  18. goal

Any sign of a response from Hull?

Harry Wilson goes close with a shot aimed for the far corner, but that's as much as the visitors have created at St Andrew's so far.

    Adama Traore (22 mins)

What a magnificent strike by Adama Traore.

The tricky winger gives Middlesbrough the lead at Brentford as he thumps the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the box.

The Bees had just about edged the first 20 minutes, but that all counts for nothing now.
