Akshay: It’s 2am in India and I am watching Arsenal getting thrashed. Thank you Mr. Wenger for restoring my faith in sleep again

Helles: Arsenal are the laughing stock of the football world, at barely any club there's this discrepancy between aspiration and reality. Wenger needs to be FIRED asap. Tuchel for example would be available right now!

Also, how bad would it have to get for Wenger to say is enough is enough?

Is it even his decision any more?

Dave: Arsenal should look decent going forward given the money they've spent in that area. But even a fat armchair fan like me can see that the defence has long needed surgery. Aubameyang must wonder what he's let himself in for.

Sean: Cech, Bellerin, Mustafi, Xhaka are consistently poor. There's one thing buying Xhaka - it’s another starting him every single game. Clearly our defensive training is NOT intense enough. Toxic from board to management. Look at Kompany. Leaders bring victory

Michael: It's a bit harsh to judge Arsenal and their coach when they're undone by this extraordinarily talented Man City team

Can you remember when Arsenal brought players that you'd never heard of and they turned out to be incredible?

Now, can you name a player from the last five or 10 years that has improved by being at Arsenal?

Could you even say with certainty who Arsenal's best player is? Or their best XI? It's all much of a muchness.

And has the defence and the defensive midfield never been addressed?

These are the players he's got at his disposal. People ask about Mustafi, but who else is there? Holding or Chambers, are they any better? The problem is in the middle of the park. The quality isn't what it used to be. I don't think these guys frighten anybody anymore.

It's turning into a sad evening for Wenger. They've been outplayed and outfought. It's as low as it gets for Arsenal right now.

Tom: It's not the lacking of winning that annoys me with Arsenal, it's the sheer lack of being able to compete. What do they do in training? Same mistakes not just week in week out, but year in year out. How much more do we have to take?

Adekunle: Man City are doing to Arsenal what Arsenal used to do to other teams 15 years ago. Unfortunately, that potency has gone and has been replaced by rank mediocrity. You really don't need glasses to see it. Time for change

You could look at that scoreline and think Arsenal have been woeful. Granted, their defending hasn't been perfect, but it hasn't been that bad, either. Manchester City have just been absolutely brilliant. If Leroy Sane didn't come out for the second half, he'd still be man of the match.

Are we witnessing the end of Arsene Wenger ?

Supported Arsenal since 1967 it's clear to see the players have just given up, it's like they expect to lose even before the game starts they look dejected ! Time for a change of management

To be fair, Arsenal still look decent when they go forward. It's just that City have the ability to score with their eyes closed. It's starting to snow. Arsenal won't want this to be called off. Imagine if they have to play City again...

Sarah: I'm giving up on Arsenal and watching Masterchef instead - that's got to serve up less bland, messy and lukewarm fare!

Eric: City are ruthless. Show us some mercy. Only a blizzard can stop City from scoring more. The beast from the north west

David: Maybe Arsenal should have abandoned this game, refused to reschedule, and accepted the 3-0 loss?

It's a strange atmosphere. The Arsenal fans are turning and the City fans and reveling in it. When Arsenal dither in the City box, wasting an opening, there are more jeers.

Laurent Koscielny looks like he could nut someone. Arsene Wenger is as worried as a new father on a maternity ward. Sergio Aguero, inside the six-yard box, is stopped by an onrushing Petr Cech. It could be a cricket score.

Arsenal have been a bit naive. Wenger wanted to dance with them and it looked threatening at times, but City are the masters at it. You can't allow De Bruyne and Silva to have this kind of space. And there's no protection for Bellerin, Sane just keeps running at him

  16. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Serious question.

How bad would it have to get at Arsenal for Wenger not to see out the season?

I'm not saying we're at that stage at the moment, but let's say it gets worse...

You could feel it coming. Arsenal were beginning to press but it was a lovely interchange and De Bruyne puts just the right weight on his pass. Then you're wondering where are the defenders? Where are the leaders? Where's the organisation?

    Leroy Sane

The Arsenal fans are booing, but can anything stop Manchester City when they are playing like this? It is simply irresistible. Leroy Sane gets the goal he deserves, finishing another sweeping move. So much space behind the Arsenal defence, Kyle Walker puts the ball across the face of goal and Sane gets there ahead of Hector Bellerin.

Arsenal's only hope is that this doesn't get embarrassing.

    Arsenal 0-2 Manchester City

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I was calling for more desire and intensity from Arsenal but you can't really play against that. The problems have been there all season for Arsenal and you can't suddenly turn it on. They've looked good going forward but they always look like they could concede.

Yep, City carved down the Arsenal right like invaders taking a new territory. Hector Bellerin will have nightmares about Sane tonight. Even with an hour to go, can you see Arsenal getting back into this one?
