    Huddersfield 0-1 Man Utd

Another goal chalked off as Nemanja Matic pops the ball into the net from Alexis Sanchez's free-kick.

VAR not needed this time, the linesman can make that decision himself.

  3. It was the right decisionpublished at 18:20 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

We saw it once and our judgement was that Mata was onside.

I'm satisfied after seeing it again, it's offside.

It was close. There are teething problems with VAR, but if it takes 20 minutes, that's how long it should take.

If it proves that it's the right decision, then it's right to have VAR.

  5. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 45 mins

    Huddersfield 0-1 Man Utd

"NO GOAL, NO GOAL," says Neil Swarbrick.

The VAR official feels Juan Mata is "leaning offside" when the ball is played through to him by Ashley Young.

It was a lovely finish from the Spaniard though, going round Jonas Lossl and popping the ball into the net.

Smalling has been the outstanding individual for United.

He has defended so well - he has got his head and body to everything.

The home crowd are howling for every decision.

Huddersfield have played really well since going behind but the home fans will worry that Sanchez and Lukaku could strike at any time.

Another United goal before half-time would be a killer for Huddersfield.

Romelu Lukaku spreads the play to the left for Alexis Sanchez, who almost picks out Juan Mata with a clever chipped pass.

  13. Huddersfield the better sidepublished at 18:11 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    Huddersfield 0-1 Man Utd

    Steve McClaren

I've watched Huddersfield a lot, even last season. They always build up from the back and get the full-backs high.

Manchester United must have known that. They may been dominating both boxes - in the sense that they have the goal and haven't conceded - but Huddersfield have been the better side.

A grimace and a hobble, but Frenchman Steve Mounie makes his way back on to the pitch.

It has taken 39 minutes, but we finally have a break in play as Huddersfield striker Steve Mounie hits the deck and needs treatment on a leg injury.

He should be OK to continue though.

Josh Earl: We may be winning 1-0 but this is dismal from United, second to every ball, can't string a few passes together. Very poor.

Jay Barnes: Good to see Manchester United parking the bus and giving these lowly teams a taste of their own medicine. Mourinho must be thrilled and Pogba must be devastated to miss out.

Joe Wedgwood: Alexis' infamous "work rate" clear to see this evening. Will need more than gloves to keep warm at this rate!

Whistle blown by referee Kevin Friend as Rajiv van La Parra goes down on the edge of the box.

The Dutchman looks up and cannot believe the decision has gone against him for tangling with Scott McTominay.

    Looked a harsh decision.

I'm looking at Luke Shaw and his body language is so poor.

He's saying 'can someone come and help me?'.

Manchester United are just letting Huddersfield cross the ball. They are being dominated down the left hand side. Sanchez is doing nothing and just waiting for the counter-attack.

Jerry Elumeze: MUFC may be leading 1-0 but their poor work rate is embarrassing as usual.

Mike Sizzy: Jose Mourinho has finally killed this great club, what a useless and clueless manager and outdated style of football.
