    Oh, great.

We have VAR for this game.

Hopefully the contest goes without any major incidents or we may be here til Sunday.

But I am told the assistant with the TV monitor had a look at a handball from United defender Chris Smalling, but deemed it not enough to warrant a penalty for the hosts.

Billing is pulling the strings in the midfield.

Huddersfield are dominating and United are having to defend for their lives in the box.

I'm interested to see who wins the midfield battle, and right now it is Huddersfield - Carrick, Matic and McTominay can't get near them.

    Huddersfield 0-1 Man Utd

Manchester United are firmly under the cosh, Huddersfield have forced a succession of set-piece and the Red Devils are having to scramble to get their heads and feet on every ball.

Goalkeeper Sergio Romero shows uncertainty when sprinting off his line to claim a corner, but got nowhere near it.

Luckily for the Argentine, team-mate Scott McTominay bailed him out.

If he'd crossed it, it would have been a simple tap-in.

Huddersfield have responded well to going a goal down.

    Huddersfield 0-1 Man Utd

Huddersfield have responded very well to falling behind. That Tom Ince chance a few minutes ago is followed up by a corner, but Victor Lindelof is positioned well to hoof the ball to safety.

The Swede will not have fond memories of this ground.

  6. CLOSE!published at 6 mins

    Huddersfield 0-1 Man Utd

Huddersfield have the opportunity to level straight away.

Manchester United fall asleep at the back, slow to come out and Tom Ince is played in behind by Philip Billing.

Ince tries to pick out Martin Jorgensen at the back post, but has too much on it and it sails wide.

That's always a big problem for these two centre-backs Schindler and Jorgensen. They were weak there.

Manchester United were onto the loose ball and Mata played a delightful ball through, weighted just right.

Lukaka didn't even have to break stride. One-nil for United, and what a start!

  8. goal

GOAL - Huddersfield 0-1 Man Utdpublished at 3 mins

    Romelu Lukaku

    Man Utd

    Perfect start for Manchester United.

Quick play from the men in red and they get a very early breakthrough.

Romelu Lukaku is given the ball to his feet by Nemanja Matic, before exchanging passes with Juan Mata.

The Belgian striker is into the box and has work to do, but holds off skipper Christophe Schindler before rolling a cool, right-footed finish past Jonas Lossl.

That is Lukaku's 20th goal of the season.

Hudderfield have chosen a team saying just that.

It's a great atmosphere, made extra special because of the visitors.

I'm looking forward to this game and seeing Sanchez in a United shirt play live for the first time.

The Huddersfield fans are making a heck of a racket with their clappers, it is a fantastic atmosphere at the John Smith's Stadium.

They are brought out of their seats for the first time as big Colin Quaner gets forward down the right and into the box, but his low cross-shot drifts wide of goal.

Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner: "Now we have to show what we are capable of. The players have created chance offensively and they look solid defensively. That is what you have to do, two good performances, now we have United in the FA Cup.

"We have seen you have to make everything right. You have to be at your best to be a competitor, then to beat them, they should not be at their best. We are very very excited and this is present for our supporters who have been with us all season.

"At home in front of our crowd, it is always special, it is different and we hope we can show what we are capable of today."

Ricky Lee Everett: There is hope that Lindeof will develop and adapt to the English game, but at the moment seeing him in a United starting XI makes me nervous.

Nick G: Of course Mourinho thinks Pogba listens to rubbish music! They are 30 years apart in age.
