Firmino didn't get out of second gear today. He did what he had to do but it looked like he's saving himself.

Not many footballers can do that on the pitch but he's done that. He's an instrumental player for Liverpool. I had my doubts when he first signed for them, but now I think he's a genius.

Christian Evans: Newcastle getting too much criticism for the way they're playing. Games against the big teams away won't define their season, the games against the teams around them will.

Mo Salah thinks the shop is still open though.

The Egypt winger races onto a through ball down the middle and breaks right before he falls in the area under a challenge from Jamaal Lascelles.

Mo Salah scythes through from the right and bursts towards the penalty area but his lay-off can't find a red shirt and Newcastle hack clear.

Five minutes for Newcastle to salvage anything from this game, even if it's just to improve their goal difference.

Kenedy chases down Trent Alexander-Arnold and forces the young right-back to slice his clearance straight out.

That's the cue for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to come off for James Milner.

A tremendous assist from Oxlade-Chamberlain for Mo Salah's opener today. He seems to be revelling in his role at Liverpool at the moment.

Adam Lallana is certainly keen to impress, having lost his starting spot through injury this season.

He races in behind to try and collect a ball over the top but is flagged for offside.

Mane looked lively and he took his goal well. He's not as sharp as he was last season, I think he's trying to be like Firmino and Salah with his little touches.

He's still had a great season, but when he has too much time think, he's not as good as when he's on it.

AbhieSpeaks: Salah is the prime example of why players shouldn't jump straight into bigger clubs. His Chelsea stint was a bit too early but now he is showing what he could have been for them had they put trust in him for two years.

Bit better from Newcastle as Kenedy swings in a deep cross to the back post but DeAndre Yedlin can't find another black and white shirt with his clip back and Liverpool clear.

Some better hounding and hassling of the Liverpool defence and midfield from Newcastle since the break.

But the visitors are still struggling to string anything together in attack.
