    Newcastle 1-0 Southampton

Southampton have put in no sort of response to going behind. Instead, they are having to repel wave after wave of Newcastle attacks. Rafael Benitez is a happy home manager. He gives a little nod, like an evil overload giving the OK for a hit.

  2. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:17 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    West Brom 1-0 Leicester

Where has this West Brom been all season? They are all over Leicester, this time with Grzegorz Krychowiak's deflected shot having to be tipped on to the bar by Kasper Schmeichel. Good to see some fight? Or right to wonder why they couldn't do this six weeks ago?

I saw the challenge in real time and thought 'I'm not sure which way this is going to go'. I think they could have both been sent off.

If you are just joining us, Jordan Ayew was sent off for a challenge on Jonathan Hogg.

  4. Postpublished at 15:16 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    Huddersfield 0-0 Swansea

What an opportunity this is now for Huddersfield. A win would take them to 33 points. If we assume 37 keeps you up, they'd be within touching distance of survival.

Swansea have left Andre Ayew up on his own since his brother was sent off. It's a 4-4-1 formation.

Remember, since Carlos Carvalhal was appointed as Swansea manager he has lost just twice in 15 games in all competitions. It's a tough ask today though and the game is now being played exclusively in the Swansea half.

  5. CLOSE!published at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

The first real chance of the game arrives at London Stadium and it's Marko Arnautovic who is slipped beyond the defence, only to fire against the legs of Nick Pope from a tight angle.

Arnautovic runs his hands through his blonde hair in frustration. It was a smart Manuel Lanzini ball which sent him clear.

    Dion Dublin
Ex-Aston Villa striker on Final Score

It's the celebrations that struck me. The West Brom players were pushing each other and grabbing each other. Like they were saying 'we can do this!' That's what you need to see in the circumstances.

  7. Postpublished at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    West Brom 1-0 Leicester

Riyad Mahrez gets into the game for the first time, fining space on the right, then whipping in a cross with his left foot. It's agonisingly close to the head of two Leicester attackers, but behind for a goal-kick.

  8. 'Great start by Baggies'published at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    West Brom 1-0 Leicester

    Danny Mills
Former England defender on Final Score

It's a great start by West Brom. Salomon Rondon gets across his man because he knows the cross is going to come in. They've got to hang on of course, but that could be 24 points. Then they'd be three or four more points off it. The way things are going, who knows?

  9. RED CARD - Jordan Ayewpublished at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    Huddersfield 0-0 Swansea

    Ouch.

Jordan Ayew takes a heavy touch as a long ball is pumped at him. As he chases the loose ball it's a 50-50 with Jonathan Hogg. But the ball is bouncing, leading to a full-blooded and awkward tackle which sees Ayew's studs connect with the side of Hogg's knee. It's ugly.

I don't think he meant it, it wasn't malicious but there's no doubt it was industrial.

    He's off. Early shower.

  10. CLOSE!published at 15:09 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    Everton 0-0 Brighton

Brighton are leading a charmed life. Phil Jagielka gets up above his man but heads straight at the keeper.

GOAL - West Brom 1-0 Leicesterpublished at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    Salomon Rondon (8 mins)

The bottom side lead! Alan Pardew almost allows himself a smile. It's made by Oliver Burke, who delivers a wicked cross from the right, with Salomon Rondon sliding in to convert his eighth of the season. Is it too late for West Brom to begin the great escape? Surely?

  12. Postpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    West Brom 0-0 Leicester

Slightly confusing at The Hawthorns. West Brom are in their blue and white stripes, while Leicester are in all blue. In the age where teams change kits if they even have a clash of underwear, you can't help but think it's an oversight. Plenty of empty blue chairs in the stands, too.

  13. CLOSE!published at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    Huddersfield 0-0 Swansea

Steve Mounie is looking for a fifth goal in eight games and he thinks he may get to celebrate early after driving into the area. He fires wide of the near post under good pressure from Alfie Mawson.

  14. CLOSE!published at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    Everton 0-0 Brighton

Good team huddle from Brighton at Goodison. I had to double take when I saw they start the day above Everton in the table. Wayne Rooney goes in hard and unfairly on Beram Kayal, it was late. No booking, perhaps because we are so early into the game he gets away with one.

Kayal was Brighton's only change. Welcome to the fold young man.

Everton, attacking the Gwladys Street start brightly and Seamus Coleman bursts into the box but fires wide. A good opening.

    Newcastle 1-0 Southampton

    Dion Dublin
Ex-Aston Villa striker on Final Score

It's not an easy chance because Kenedy's got his back to goal but Cedric gets too tight and he turns him. He sort of scuffs it in but who cares?

  16. 'Dream start for Newcastle'published at 15:03 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    Newcastle 1-0 Southampton

    Michael O'Neill
Northern Ireland manager on BBC Radio 5 live

Great ball from Jonjo Shelvey, Kenedy does well, great chest control. Not the greatest contact on the ball for the goal, but enough to beat the goal kepper. Dream start for Newcastle.

  17. goal

GOAL - Newcastle 1-0 Southamptonpublished at 15:01 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    Kenedy (2 mins)

His first goal for the club!

It's absolutely brilliant from Kenedy, who puts Newcastle ahead before some have taken their seats. He takes Jonjo Shelvey's cross on his chest and spins a defender in the same motion, running on to the dropping ball and finishing from around the six-yard line.

Wonderful, wonderful stuff. A big moment at the bottom, too.

I don't know anyone in football that has got a bad word to say about Chris Hughton. He coaches in a way that makes the players better. Knockaert is getting back to what he can do and in Glenn Murray they've got someone who can score goals.
