Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech, who is a five-time FA Cup winner with the Gunners and former club Chelsea: "Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez have got a great understanding of each other's game.

"It's the timing of Vardy's movement which is excellent. As soon as Mahrez gets the ball he knows he is capable of finding him behind.

"Vardy can run down either side and as a keeper need to make sure you're advanced."

    About that...

This Chelsea fan's scarve features a white eagle in reference to owner Roman Abramovich and his millions.

There was an interesting article in the Times this week suggesting tougher sanctions against Russia might bite on Abramovich and even cost him the club., external

  4. 'Chelsea need a performance'published at 16:20 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2018

    Leicester v Chelsea (16:30 GMT)

    Phil Brown
Swindon Town manager on BBC Radio 5 live

This moment of time is so pivotal for Chelsea. We made up our mind, Conte is going at the end of the season. Period.

They need a good performance. It is as simple as that. Got to give both managers respect for putting their strongest teams out today. If the real Chelsea comes to the King Power today and steps up to the plate, you would expect them to win.

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC One

I gave Leicester an excellent chance to go through today. Two years when they won the Premier League they took advantage of unrest at Chelsea and today I believe there is unrest at Chelsea.

I don’t think Chelsea are far off. Yes they are far from the league leaders and they have been knocked out of the Champions League, but they showed they are alive with the performance against Barcelona.

One thing I would say is they cannot score as frequently as they could last season, and they are paying the toll for this.

They are not mucking around with pre-match flags at Leicester.

No skimping on number with one on seemingly every seat.

And some thought has gone into the choreography.

Chelsea are in the middle of a completely crucial three games in their season. They played Barcelona in the Champions League in midweek and went out. There's a chance to get into the FA Cup semi-finals today.

Their next game is Tottenham, which may decide if they get into the top four. It is a pivotal tie, so Conte is sending out his strongest team for every game.

I think it will be a very tight game. Can Leicester take advantage of the unrest at Chelsea? I think they can. They have a lot to play for and it will be a brilliant atmosphere. I'm looking forward to the game.

Former Leicester City captain Matt Elliot on BBC Radio 5 Live:

The FA Cup has never come within Leicester’s grasp. They have been to four finals and lost every one. But now fans are really looking ahead. The team have managed to get to the quarter finals and some are already looking ahead to the semi-finals.

I would say people are quietly confident, but some are not so quiet. Chelsea are in a bit of disarray.

They are still a class outfit. They have struggled for rhythm, but they have big-game players like Willian and Eden Hazard. There are stars throughout the team and Leicester will need to be on top form.

Manchester City or Leicester City, it doesn't matter.

Kelechi Iheanacho is white-hot in the FA Cup.

The Nigeria international has nine goals in six starts and four sub appearances in the competiton through his career.

After getting his first Foxes Premier League goal against West Brom last week, he might well be in the money again.

    Tiemoue BakayokoImage source, Reuters

This is Tiemoue Bakayoko's first start for Chelsea since his stinker against Watford on 5 February.

The midfielder, signed for a reported £40m from Monaco in the summer, was sent off half an hour into a 4-1 defeat by the Hornets.

He lost the ball seven times in that time - more than any other player on the pitch - and was generally all over the shop.

Anyway, his inclusion means no Danny Drinkwater at his former club.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who made a couple of errors in Wednesday's Champions League defeat at Barcelona, has been replaced by understudy Willy Caballero.

That's unlikely to be a direct consequence for Belgian, who has watched Caballero start all four of the Blues' FA Cup ties this season.

Striker Alvaro Morata also returns in place of Olivier Giroud, while Antonio Conte's other change sees midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko swap spots with Cesc Fabregas.

Wigan manager Paul Cook: "You can't ask any more from your players. The first half we were excellent. We expected that response from Southampton and we wish them well in the semi-finals. We were playing some great players and in the end their quality came through.

"The goalkeeper was outstanding. He works very hard and gets his rewards. I'd like to see Noel Hunt's chance again. That felt like a key moment and most of those seemed to go to Southampton today."
