  1. CLOSE!published at 21:15 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Brentford 1-3 Cardiff

Kenneth Zohore tested Daniel Bentley a moment ago with a header, and then his latest effort is cleared off the line by desperate Brentford defence.

The home side have lost their grip on this game, it's been a little scrappy from them.

Changes made, the extensively coiffured Emiliano Marcondes replaces Sergi Canos for Brentford. Lewis Macleod comes on for Nico Yennaris.

  2. Villa look flatpublished at 21:13 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Aston Villa 0-2 QPR

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at Villa Park

"Villa have looked a little more enlivened since Keinan Davis's introduction as a substitute - and now Scott Hogan is on too.

"But it's hard to see quite how they get back into this one, unless they can conjure up another final half hour like they managed on Saturday night against Wolves.

"Whereas QPR look sharp, hungry, dangerous and, on this evidence, clearly in a false position, Villa look flat, by comparison."

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:13 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Brentford 1-3 Cardiff

Daniel Bentley has to 'Stretch Armstrong' himself to tip away a looping header toward goal. Panic in the Bees backline. You could almost feel the muscle fibres straining as he clawed it over the top.

    The corner comes to nothing.

  4. Postpublished at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Aston Villa 0-2 QPR

Aston Villa make a second change as Lewis Grabban makes way for Scott Hogan.

Just under 25 minutes for Villa to somehow salvage something tonight.

  5. goal

GOAL: Sheffield United 2-0 Burton Albionpublished at 21:08 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    David Brooks (64 mins)

What an introduction by Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder, sends on David Brooks and gets a goal within two minutes.

Tricky Blades schemer Mark Duffy supplied the crucial pass, and Brooks tucked it home. Might be game over at Bramall Lane.

  6. goal

GOAL - Wolves 2-0 Readingpublished at 21:06 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Benik Afobe

    The leaders back on song!

Benik Afobe applies the finishing touch after great build up play from Ruben Neves and Helder Costa.

Saturday's defeat will feel like a long time ago now.

  7. League Two updatepublished at 21:05 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Coventry 2-1 Luton

Coventry City had a 2-0 lead over second-placed Luton at half-time but Scott Cuthbert's header has got the visitors back in it.

Elsewhere, Barnet are off the bottom as it stands as they lead Port Vale 1-0.

  8. goal

GOAL: Brentford 1-3 Cardiffpublished at 21:03 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Kenneth Zohore (57 mins)

Having eased in front before the break, Cardiff are taking a big step toward their promotion dream by opening up a two-goal lead - and with Villa losing.

Bruno Ecuele Manga's diagonal free-kick is floated to the edge of the box and after Callum Paterson and Junior Hoilett flicks put the ball into that 'corridor of uncertainty' between defence and keeper, Kenneth Zohore pounced to nudge the ball past Daniel Bentley.

Is that the killer blow? Brentford not happy about the free-kick award that led to the goal but the defending had to be better.

  9. Postpublished at 21:02 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Brentford 1-2 Cardiff

All sorts of farce in the Brentford box as a cross comes swinging in and there are calls for handball when Josh Clarke blocks a cross and then sees the ball rattled into his arm. No penalty again.

Then the Bees fly up the other end and Ollie Watkins lets fly, shot blocked by Sol Bamba and it's a corner. Loic Damour yellow carded in the build up to that for a foul.

  10. Postpublished at 21:01 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Wolves 1-0 Reading

A second Wolves goal would probably put this one to bed.

Barry Douglas lines up a free-kick that takes a nick off the wall and goes wide. Looks like it might well have been goalbound.

  11. Postpublished at 21:00 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Aston Villa 0-2 QPR

    And there is that change.

Striker Keinan Davis comes on for left-back Neil Taylor as boss Steve Bruce throws caution to the wind.

  12. Postpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Aston Villa 0-2 QPR

Aston Villa go close to getting back in it.

Robert Snodgrass' free-kick hits the wall and the Scot volleys the rebound just wide.

Looks like the hosts are going to make a change soon.

  13. Postpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Brentford 1-2 Cardiff

Brentford have begun the second-half almost as well as they started the first but without the goal to show for it much to the chagrin of their fans.

Cardiff unruffled by it all the same. Some one-touch football looks to put Neal Maupay away but Sol Bamba (legally) blocks his path. Cries go up, no penalty.

  14. goal

GOAL: Ipswich 0-3 Hull Citypublished at 20:51 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Jarrod Bowen (45 mins)

Goodness me. We asked for goals, and we got one within seconds.

Jarrod Bowen struck the woodwork in the first half but was not to be denied this time, cruising past Callum Connolly and slipping the ball past Bartosz Bialkowski at his near post for number three.

Happy trip back to East Yorkshire for the Hull City fans then?

Sol Bamba lashes in a goal for Cardiff on the volleyImage source, Rex Features

There have been some corkers tonight in terms of goals, from crafted team goals to solo stunners.

Sol Bamba's swiveling volley was delicious, Markus Henriksen has leathered one from 25 yards for Hull and the precision of the cross by Jake Bidwell and diving header from Ryan Manning top drawer of a different variety.

Here's to a few more in the second-half eh?

  16. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

We're back under way across the country.

A huge 45 minutes for a number of teams but none more so than Aston Villa as they look to overturn a 2-0 deficit at home to QPR.

  17. QPR fans in dreamlandpublished at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Aston Villa 0-2 QPR

    Ged Scott

    QPRImage source, Rex Features

"Before tonight, only Birmingham City had less away points in the Championship this season than QPR.

"But their two first-half goals - one made by Jake Bidwell, the second scored by the Rangers left-back - have put them in dreamland. And deservedly so too. "We're winning away," taunt the hardy band of disbelieving Hoops fans.

"Then again, both their previous two away league wins this season came in the Midlands (at Birmingham and Burton), so maybe we should have seen this coming? They must do a good pre-match meal at Corley Services!

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:40 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Wolves 1-0 Reading

    WolvesImage source, Getty Images

So far so good for Wolves.

Smarting from their 4-1 defeat at Aston Villa on Saturday they've not been at their best but they have a crucial 1-0 lead against Reading.

Matt Doherty's goal is sending Nuno Espirito Santo's men 10 points clear of Villa as it stands.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:38 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Aston Villa 0-2 QPR

Fair to say it's been a total disaster for Aston Villa so far.

Goals from Ryan Manning and Jake Bidwell have put QPR in total control at Villa Park and with both Wolves and Cardiff winning this could be the end for their realistic hopes of a top two finish.

A very big 15 minutes for Villa boss Steve Bruce.

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2018

    Brentford 1-2 Cardiff

Well. That is the sign of a side in their pomp, to go 1-0 down away from home early on and turn it round by the break.

Six straight wins are the evidence of Cardiff's quality, and two ruthlessly taken goals by Sol Bamba - a worldie - and Callum Paterson have brought them back into the contest.

Brentford have been good to watch, an attacking menace and have retained their composure. They just need to find the cutting edge shown by Neal Maupay when he pounced early on.

What is for sure, is that these two teams are nicely matched. It's been very entertaining.
