This could become embarrassing for Manchester United. David de Gea uncharacteristically giving the ball way, Sterling with a message to hi manager to play him on Tuesday, he's been briliant so far.

Great skill from Ilkay Gundogan, rolls away from Nemanja Matic and slots it in.

    Ilkay Gundogan

    Man City

    Oof, delightful.

Another poor clearance proves oh, so costly for Manchester United.

This time David de Gea's kick is picked off and Raheem Sterling is set free inside the area.

He lays the ball off to Ilkay Gundogan, who turns Nemanja Matic brilliantly, before poking a low finish into the net from 12 yards out.

United are in a spin, City are on their way to the Premier League title.

PJ: Chris Smalling had to be stronger and more determined there in that tussle with Kompany. C'mon man; this is the Manchester derby for crying out loud!

David: Smalling showing everyone why he should not be in England's World Cup squad.

It's a great ball into the box. Vincent Kompany out-muscles Chris Smalling. He wants it more and the skipper powers it into the net. Great header.

Pop open that champagne, the party is about to get started.

Antonio Valencia's poor clearance proves crucial as Manchester City get the opener.

It is the skipper Vincent Kompany, who rises high above Chris Smalling, to plant a thumping header from Leroy Sane's corner into the back of the bet.

No chance for David de Gea and City are on their way to the Premier League title.

David: City are taking the game to United's defence......not a good sign for United fans.

Dave: City have better close control and are quicker off the mark over 10 yards or so, United can't keep the ball long enough to put pressure on the City defence.

We have not seen much of Leroy Sane so far, but his low cross causes confusion at the back for United.

The ball ricochets off Eric Bailly and Antonio Valencia slices the ball away for a corner.

Danilo needs to be careful because this is the second late challenge he has committed in the game, this time on Alexis Sanchez.

The next one will be a booking.

    We almost had the opener.

Bernardo Silva gets in behind the United backline for the first time and is played through on goal, but his poked effort from six yards out is kept out by the leg of David de Gea.

David Silva shakes off the tackle and finds space 25 yards out.

He approaches the area and strikes a left-footed shot high and wide of David de Gea's goal.

  19. 'Kompany weak link on the ball'published at 17:47 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

    Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    Robbie Savage
Ex-Leicester City & Wales midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

If I was a United player I would want Vincent Kompany on the ball as often as possible.

Fantastic defender, but on the ball not as good as other City defenders, as we saw just there after the pass from Ederson.

  20. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    What's he doing?

City skipper Vincent Kompany gives the ball away inside his own area, passing the ball straight to Ander Herrera.

The Belgian, though, is let off the hook by team-mate Fernandinho, who comes across with a covering challenge.

Kompany apologises to his boys and so he should. That could have been very costly.
