West Ham sit in 14th position - now six points above the relegation zone - while Chelsea are now a whopping 10 points below fourth-placed Tottenham.

Their top four hopes are well and truly over you'd expect.

Dave Bookham: Conte can’t justify staying now. We have a squad good enough for top 4. He should have stopped complaining and got on with it. He has cost us top four.

Henry Di'Stasio: It really has gone down the drain for Chelsea this season... but on a positive note, isn't it great to see Chicharito reclaiming his 'super sub' title!

West Ham United

West Ham manager David Moyes speaking to MOTD: "It certainly is a prized point for us, we were playing against a team who are quality, and have some terrific attacking players who played well.

"The key was that we were never out of it, because the way they go the first goal was diabolical. Chelsea can get a goal in other ways but from a corner was really bad from our point of view.

"In the Premier League you never know, they were playing well so it could have got away from us, but we defended well and Joe Hart made a couple of outstanding saves."

On substitute Javier Hernandez scoring the equaliser: "Chicharito won't thank me for bringing him on as a substitute, but he's a great penalty box striker and he always gets goals, and he's done it again today. But everytime you open up against Chelsea it's a bit dangerous but we defended well on the whole.

On possibly deserving more: "At the end we had a corner and I was waving the players up to try and win it, and Marko Arnautovic went down in the area and it looked as though he could have had a clip, but we'll have to look at it again."

Chelsea

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta speaking to MOTD: "What matters is the score at the end, I am frustrated today, we should be able to win this game.

"We controlled the game, we created enough chances to win but we struggled at the end and maybe they could have scored the winner. We are not happy.

"To get a draw at home in another London derby is really frustrating for all of us and all of the fans.

"It's becoming harder and harder every game it goes on. We are further away then ever. The FA Cup is a massive trophy but it's not enough for us. We will try to win it but the cup will not save our season."

Donald: This Chelsea team almost reminds you of that employee who resigned and is just serving their notice. Looking forward to leaving.

Zak: Disappointing day but our fate was sealed last weekend. It's gonna be a boring few last games.

Chelsea

More from Antonio Conte speaking to Sky Sports: "How do I see this result? It is very difficult to explain it at all. We dominated the game and created many, many chances to score but we didn't and that explains our season.

"We have had good performances all season but you have to score. This is not the first time and we have to improve a lot. When you stay in this position in the table it means that you have a problem.

"At the end we are talking about a draw and not a win and it means that it is incredible.

"We must be frustrated, this is not the first time. We are in this position because we have wasted good chances to get three points. This is the truth. We have to improve, we must win this game. Instead we are talking about a draw.

"You need the desire to score a second goal, a third, a fourth.

"Top four? Top four? [laughs] I don't know, I don't know. We will try to do our best. We change - I don't know what..."

Chelsea

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte speaking to MOTD: "I think with this game we can see our season, our season is like this, we can create a lot of chances but we cannot take them.

"We are not clinical and then we concede two shots and concede a goal. This game is our season, it is a pity because we dominated the game and created many chances to score.

"But when you don't score but create the chances it's very difficult to win. This game explains our season.

"A good performance, yes, but many times we have had a good performance [this season] and lost the game, or drew the game, many times we've had a good performance but not won the game."

On forwards potentially lacking confidence: "[Alvaro] Morata scored two offside goals, he does not lack confidence and we created enough chances for [Eden] Hazard, Willian and Morata to score. But I repeat this game explains our season."

Antonio Conte isn't a happy man. He says today's game "is this season" as Chelsea missed a number of chances to win the game.

Here's what his full thoughts were...

Nijel: Chelsea were just so poor. They should be winning games like this. Next season will be difficult for them without Champions League football.

West Ham United

West Ham manager David Moyes:"We were incredibly commited. Thankfully we stuck at it and got something out of it.

"Chelsea were really good in the first half but we kept it to one, the goal we lose is dire, I could accept conceding from some of their great play but the goal was so poor.

"Everybody knows what Chicharito is capable of, he's a great penalty box striker. He's had a great career.

"Joe Hart probably needed a game like that. When you play the big teams you need your keeper to play well and he did that.

"Maybe on another day we get a penalty late on as well. I've always said we need 40 points, we might not need them but we won't be happy until we get there."

Chelsea

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger: "I think we begged for the goal, and in the second half, or even in the first half we could have finished the game, but like the last few months we couldn't, and we conceded at the end.

"It's not easy to explain, I don't understand after we go 1-0 up why we always drop off and let our opponents come onto us.

"We could have done better, of course, we gave them a gift, it was the first clear chance they had and they scored.

"The thing is we have to start playing good football and winning games, because if we don't do that we cannot get in the top four."

On winning the game for Ray Wilkins: "Yes of course, it's sad that we didn't give something back to him, so we are sorry for that."

Finlay: The true winner here is Tottenham - 10 points ahead of Chelsea and 10 points clear on the top 4. Surely Chelsea and Arsenal will miss out?

Steve Young: Chicharito and Joe Hart: the Kop salutes you.

Javier Hernandez has scored four of his 16 Premier League goals as a substitute against Chelsea.

It was also the fourth time Hernandez has appeared as a substitute at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League and the Mexican has found the net in all four of those games.

Prolific, ruthless and ever-present.

• West Ham avoided defeat in an away Premier League game against the reigning champions for only the third time.

West Ham goalscorer Javier Hernandez: "These types of games are very difficult, you have to be focused to stop a very good side like Cheslea. We have a point and now we have a final against Stoke next week."

On scoring six times against Chelsea as a sub: "Sometimes you get things like that in football. I cannot score against one team, I keep scoring against Chelsea. We get a point, that is the important thing. It's not a decision of mine to start or not, but I make it difficult for him now."

Goalkeeper Joe Hart: "We looked dangerous in the second half. We did well in the first half apart from the goal which was really poor. We are strong. We had a good crowd following us in a difficult venue, they are the champions let's not forget. They created a lot but we stood strong.

"I'm focused on West Ham, not England, that's my job, we are creating a good spirit in the team, we stick together and today was a good example of that. We are moving in the right direction but in this league you have a smile on your face one day and not the next.

"Stoke next Monday is our game of the season now."

David: Dear oh dear - another poor result against a team Chelsea should beat. Disgraceful really, big changes over the summer hopefully.

Constance: Chelsea players spineless. Conte even worse.
