Not only are West Ham chasing the game, they're also fighting to stay in the Premier League but today's performance has provided little positives...

    Chelsea 1-0 West Ham

    Danny Mills
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

Chelsea have dominated possession today, but they've worked harder, too. They've ran further and they've done more in general. It shouldn't be like that, the team chasing the game should be working harder.

Sho: West Ham have so many matches where they just don't show any fight whatsoever. Wouldn't be missed at all if they got relegated. Get some new blood in.

  5. 'It feels like a testimonial'published at 17:56 British Summer Time 8 April 2018

    Chelsea 1-0 West Ham

    Danny Mills
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

It's had the feel of an end of season testimonial for me, which from Chelsea's perspective, I can understand. But West Ham are down there fighting for their lives, and it just hasn't been good enough.

  6. CLOSE!published at 69 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 West Ham

N'Golo Kante wins the ball back twice in as many minutes for Chelsea and it opens up an opportunity for Victor Moses.

He tries to curl it into the top corner from just inside the area but it's always going wide - though only inches past the post in the end.

Graham: As a Preston fan, I was buzzing when we made a fortune off the sale of Hugill, but we've struggled to score since the sale and West Ham just don't seem to want to use him... WHY!? Why on earth did they buy him?

  8. 'One shot for Hammers'published at 17:54 British Summer Time 8 April 2018

    Chelsea 1-0 West Ham

    Danny Mills
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

West Ham have had one shot all game, from Marko Arnautovic in the first half. They should be desperate to get out of this relegation battle, and today they've had a great opportunity to upset Chelsea, who haven't been anywhere near their best.

  9. Postpublished at 66 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 West Ham

Eden Hazard was teasing Pablo Zabaleta but slipped in the box which enabled Declan Rice to steal the ball away.

West Ham don't have enough numbers forwards to counter-attack and instead are left passing the ball around the back while Chelsea are able to get back into shape.

West Ham need to show some passion here, some fight, because they haven't done so far today.

What is the point of Jordan Hugill sitting on the bench every week and never being used? If he's bad, let's see that he's bad. Who knows, he might surprise us!

    Chelsea 1-0 West Ham

West Ham have finally got hold of the ball and are trying to enjoy some possession but are struggling to get further than the halfway line.

They need to get something going here.

  15. 'Morata marginally offside'published at 17:47 British Summer Time 8 April 2018

    Chelsea 1-0 West Ham

    Danny Mills
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

Alvaro Morata is very, very marginally offside there, it's a great spot from the linesman. But again, it's just so easy for Chelsea to cut through West Ham.

West Ham fans cannot be happy with this, they've been lacklustre, supposedly fighting for their lives and there's just no fight.

  16. CLOSE!published at 60 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 West Ham

Alvaro Morata puts the ball in the back of the net but gets it ruled out for offside for the second time.

WIllian got away down the left and had time to pick out the striker in the middle, which he did so perfectly, only for Morata to make his run too early and get caught offside.

    He's frustrated by it too.

If the first half heatmap wasn't telling enough - this one is.

Chelsea (on the left) are everywhere but West Ham are being forced to defend in large periods.

  19. 'You'd expect him to score'published at 17:43 British Summer Time 8 April 2018

    Chelsea 1-0 West Ham

    Danny Mills
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

Six yards out, not quite level with the front post, he loses Pablo Zabaleta easily, you'd expect Alvaro Morata to score there really; a player of his heading ability.

  20. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 West Ham

Victor Moses' cross is cut out this time but Chelsea have yet another corner as their dominance on the game continues to grow.

Alvaro Morata leaps highest on the resulting set-piece but he can't direct the ball goalwards and it's out for a goal kick.
