I think it is fair to say that Pep Guardiola feels Kevin de Bruyne deserves to be named PFA Player of the Year tonight.... this his take on it:

"I know my opinion about these awards so if he doesn’t win, congratulations to the guy who is going to win but from my point of view when you are analysing nine months or 10 months then there was no player better than him.

"In terms of the continuity and playing every three days in all competitions he was there. I am sorry, maybe with numbers, there are numbers guys better than him, but no player in this season with the team who wins (the title) five games before the end, he was the best.

"But it is my opinion and the opinion of the players can be another one and if that has happened congratulations to the guy who is going to win - I would like to feel that he deserved it. But at the end in summer time we will be at home being champions and for that to happen the players have to play."

Almost time to wrap things up but if you haven't seen them already, here's the highlights from the FA Cup semi-final between Chelsea and Southampton earlier today.

  5. 'They are from another planet'published at 19:04 British Summer Time 22 April 2018

Swansea boss Carlos Carvalhal, speaking to BBC Sport: "Difficult game for us. They had just lost one home game against Manchester United. They are champions, they are a team from another planet.

"We are playing to survive. We lose one game and at this moment we are still four points from the teams behind us. This game we forget it and we move to the next game to try and achieve the points.

"We have recovered nine points in three months, we have four games left. It is in our hands. I hope we can solve the things before the last two games but if we don't, we have the two games at the end I think with he determination and commitment we have we will achieve it."

  6. Pass masterspublished at 18:59 British Summer Time 22 April 2018

    Manchester City 5-0 Swansea

Manchester City attempted 1015 passes against Swansea (942 completed), becoming the first team to attempt 1000+ in a Premier League game (since Opta records begain 2003/04). Incredible.

  7. 'You have to keep improving'published at 18:54 British Summer Time 22 April 2018

    Manchester City 5-0 Swansea City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola speaking to BBC MOTD:

“It was a happy atmosphere around the stadium, getting off the bus and of course the supporters. The most important thing was a good performance.

“You have to keep improving, if you think ok we are already champions, we are done, you cannot play like the way we played today. So we spoke to the players in the week about that. If we are improving it will be good for the new season, finishing in a good way.

"When they had the ball we pressed so good and so intense and then when we had the ball we had to l keep it moving, moving, moving, playing simple until we had the chance to play a final pass.

"Swansea have had good results under Carlos Carvalhal against Arsenal and Liverpool and that’s why it was so important to focus, play well and score.

"It’s been more than six months, his social media is so active now it’s time to take a step and stay focused because he’s back and we hope for the best Mendy for next season."

  8. 'League is won, now it's records'published at 18:49 British Summer Time 22 April 2018

    Manchester City 5-0 Swansea

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola: "The important thing is the performance, we played at a quite similar level this season. Swansea have lost just three games with Carlos as manager. It’s not easy against them, we attacked really well.

"It’s never unfinished business in football, you have to keep improving. Looking for records helps to keep the players focused. The league is won, now it’s the records. The numbers keep the players focused."

  9. 'Everything is in our hands to stay up'published at 18:44 British Summer Time 22 April 2018

    Manchester City 5-0 Swansea City

    Swansea City

Swansea City manager Carlos Carvalhal speaking to Sky Sports:

"This is the 14th time this season that Manchester City have won by more than three goals, sometimes by four, five, six or seven so they are from another planet in this competition.

"We tried to played honest but for the first two goals they discovered places where other teams would find difficulties, the third goal is amazing from Kevin De Bruyne. I think we had three or four situations where we could have achieved a goal.

"We blocked very well with the lines, but the first and second goals they discover different place with the individual quality of the players they have. I wasn’t happy after half an hour but after 30 mins we started to play a little more.

"In general it was a very difficult game like we expected. We knew it would difficult to achieve points if we got one it would be a big bonus because nobody achieves points here except Manchester United.

"We have four games left to play, some teams have just three so everything is in our hands to stay up."

The score could have been anything, City could have stepped up a gear and scored more. Swansea will probably be happy coming away with five. It could be a massive result at the end of the season but a negative way.

Dave: Man City just put on a ️️️️️five-star champions performance. Simply brilliant.

Josh: As a United fan, as much as it pains me, I must say City have been absolutely outstanding all season. Simply breathtaking football today, everyone else in the league has so much to do over the summer to even get close to this team.

  19. City fans are staying on their feetpublished at 18:19 British Summer Time 22 April 2018

    Manchester City 5-0 Swansea

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

The home fans had just risen for another rendition of 'Stand up for the Champions' when that fifth goal went in and most of them have decided to stay on their feet.

The only way today could probably get any better for them is if any one of Phil Foden, Benjamin Mendy, Yaya Toure - or Ederson - gets on the scoresheet before the final whistle but as title parties go, I don't think it's been a bad one.
