James McClean, getting loads every time he gets the ball because of his Sunderland past, almost has Albion ahead. They counter smartly from a Newcastle corner, they play the ball out wide to free McClean and he drills a cross-shot across the face of goal and wide.

I witnessed possibly one of the greatest Sunday League own goals last week when our defender lobbed his own keeper from 30 yards, and Southampton's Jan Bednarek almost suffered an embarrassing moment of his own.

Under no pressure, the defender looks to direct a loose ball back to Alex McCarthy and sticks it just wide of the post with the goalkeeper beaten.
