    Derby 1-0 Barnsley

    Mark Clemmit
    BBC Sport

There's a lot riding on Barnsley's survival attempt today. Don't forget: they got taken over after a long, protracted negotiation involving Billy Beane - the Moneyball man - and Chien Lee, and they have big, big plans.

They described Barnsley as one of the best-run clubs in the country, especially when it comes to bringing young players through.

That's true when you think about the talent that's been through the book - John Stones, Mason Holgate and Alfie Mawson to name three.

Barnsley are safe for now, with Bolton drawing and Burton losing.

    Cardiff 0-0 Reading

The Bluebirds are really knocking on the door, but Kenneth Zohore's effort is blocked this time.

Nevertheless, Cardiff are going up as it stands, if Fulham continue trailing at Birmingham.

    Championship final day

    Michael Appleton
Leicester City assistant manager on BBC Radio 5 live

Final days like this can be difficult for the coaches, but you just concentrate on your own games. Your coaching staff try to keep you up to speed but you try to keep as much information away from your players as possible.

I had a similar situation a couple of seasons ago at Oxford - if we won the game, we knew we were definitely getting promoted. But because it was in our own hands, I felt that was a lot easier. I enjoyed that type of pressure, rather than worrying about what happened elsewhere.

    Derby 1-0 Barnsley

Barnsley pushing for an equaliser despite being safe as scores stand.

They have a big penalty appeal turned down as Kieffer Moore is flattened in the box.

Referee waves the shouts away and from the follow-up, Adam Hammill has an effort blocked.

    Cardiff 0-0 Reading

Cardiff's fans are furious as Junior Hoilett goes down in the area under Tiago Ilori's challenge and the referee waves play on.

But a replay appears to suggest Ilori gets a small touch on the ball first.

    Callum Robinson (26 mins)

Well, this goal might change matters at both ends of the table....

Burton had started the better of the two sides, but Preston have the lead to keep their play-off hopes alive and potentially strike a decisive blow to Burton's survival chances.

Callum Robinson rises from the corner to head home for the hosts, and Burton drop into the bottom three...

Derby and Cameron Jerome have the ball in the net again.

But, relief for Barnsley is that despite his cracking finish, it's been ruled out for handball by Jerome.

    Birmingham 1-0 Fulham

Birmingham almost have a second, but Lukas Jutkiewicz's close-range shot is saved.

Fulham may be behind, but it's worth remembering they've not been beaten since 16 December. Yes, that's right, December.

There are probably some kids out there who have gone through two trouser sizes since then...

So don't count out the men from Craven Cottage just yet.

Huge shock as relegated Sunderland take a 1-0 lead against champions Wolves. Ovie Ejaria the man of the moment there - he pounced after the ball cannoned off goalkeeper Will Norris.

Brentford's Sergi Canos has broken the deadlock at Griffin Park against Hull City, glancing home from close range after Alan Judge's cross caused pandemonium in the box and was headed back across goal by Emiliano Marcondes.

Sheffield Wednesday also lead at home to Norwich. Atdhe Nuhiu climbs highest to meet Adam Reach's cross with a powerful header at the far post.

David Wheater meets Filipe Morais' corner with a thunderous header that Stefanos Kapino tips onto the post.

It's then scrambled clear off the line by Forest. The Trotters are pushing for the goal they need to climb out of the bottom three.

"We are staying up," is the chant from Reading's fans moments after Derby take the lead against Barnsley.

A minute later, Cardiff supporters join in the cheering as they learn that promotion rivals Fulham are losing at Birmingham.

    It's a mutual love-in here.

    Preston 0-0 Burton

How will both these sides respond to the news of that goal at Pride Park?

Preston's play-off hopes being dashed by that Derby goal and Burton's survival hopes probably boosted.

First real chance for either side sees Burton try and hit the hosts on the counter.

Marvin Sordell finds space down the right and tries to find Lucas Akins to run on to the ball across goal, but it's just out of his reach.

    Lukas Jutkiewicz (15 mins)

Fulham are behind and the news immediately sparks cheers at the Cardiff City Stadium.

A packed St Andrew's goes wild as Lukas Jutkiewicz tucks in from right-back Wes Harding's cross. That would be more than enough to keep Birmingham up if it stays like that.

It changes things at the top, too... Cardiff could afford to lose and they'll still finish second.

    Championship final day

The first goal of the day in the Championship came from Freddie Sears at Ipswich, who pick-pocketed Ben Gibson before closing in on goal and slamming past Darren Randolph in the Middlesbrough goal.

There's also been a breakthrough for Sheffield United away to Bristol City thanks to Leon Clarke, who's earned his 19th goal of the season. His drive from 25 yards beat the outstretched Frank Fielding to nestle in the bottom corner. But both of those sides were probably hoping they were right at the heart of the action today.

    Cardiff 0-0 Reading

Cardiff want a penalty as Reading's Leandro Bacuna tangles with Sean Morrison in the area, but the officials say no. It's messy from the Royals man.

Moments later, the hosts' Joe Ralls lets fly with a sweetly-struck volley that is heading goalwards but is blocked.

    Cameron Jerome (14 mins)

First goal of note this afternoon goes to play-off chasing Derby and could be a hammer blow for Barnsley's survival hopes.

Cameron Jerome is set free in acres of space on the break for the Rams and he composes himself to fire the ball into the roof of the net left-footed.

That goal will send Barnsley down as it stands.

    Derby 0-0 Barnsley

Meanwhile, at Pride Park, there's a chance for the hosts and a big early save from Jack Walton to keep Barnsley in the fight.

Marcus Olsson shoots from range and the keeper tips it over the bar as it swerves.

Striker Kieffer Moore is then back to help out and head the corner clear for the Tykes.
