James O'Hara: The Welsh are working hard, but a fair chance of tiring after 70 mins. Fresh legs and England should start carving out clearer opportunities.

    England 0-0 Wales

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC Two

Wales have frustrated England. Their game plan has worked extremely well. They’ve stopped England doing what they do best, creating gilt-edged chances.

  7. Postpublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 6 April 2018

    England 0-0 Wales

    Alex Scott
Arsenal Ladies & former England international on BBC Two

Wales boss Jayne Ludlow came into this with a gameplan. You have to credit this Welsh team. Defensively they’ve frustrated England.

England have been sloppy in possession at times. Jayne will be telling her players 'more of the same in the second half' because what they’ve done has been brilliant.

  8. Postpublished at 19:53 British Summer Time 6 April 2018

    England 0-0 Wales

    BBC Two

Former Wales striker Gwennan Harries on BBC Two: "I'm extremely happy. We were really disciplined. We haven’t given England any space. The best chance has come from a long-range effort and we’ve had chances ourselves."

  9. Postpublished at 19:51 British Summer Time 6 April 2018

    England 0-0 Wales

    Sue Smith
Former England forward on BBC Two

Wales will be the happier of the two teams. They've defended very well and been physical with England.

England have lacked that final ball into the box. There's not been enough quality for me.

  10. A Euro 2021 venue?published at 19:50 British Summer Time 6 April 2018

    England 0-0 Wales

    Tom Garry
    BBC Sport at St Mary's

Tonight's turnout should give Southampton a strong chance of being selected as a host city, should England's bid to host Women's Euro 2021 be successful as anticipated.

And there is women's football history etched in to this region as well.

They're not affiliated to the men's Saints who play here, but with eight Women's FA Cups to their name - second only to Arsenal - Southampton Women's FC enjoyed dominant success in the 1970, reaching all of the cup's first nine finals.

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 19:50 British Summer Time 6 April 2018

    England 0-0 Wales

Goalless, largely chanceless half for England.

Wales haev been dogged and determined but also unlucky. Should they be ahead?

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 44 mins

    England 0-0 Wales

England have a rare chance to counter and catch Wales out, Lucy Bronze is played down the right and Natasha Harding knows what to do - out comes an arm on the shoulder and she pulls the Lyon flyer to the deck.

    A clear booking for Harding.

  13. Postpublished at 42 mins

    England 0-0 Wales

A communication breakdown between Steph Houghton and Lucy Bronze allows Angharad James to have a shy at goal for Wales. She's an awfully long way out and gets hold of it well but it's always drifting over the top.

  14. Postpublished at 40 mins

    England 0-0 Wales

Wales are camped so deep that England are growing frustrated, they can't find a route to goal at all at the moment.

  15. Postpublished at 39 mins

    England 0-0 Wales

You can hear some Wales fans in the crowd for the first time - their side are almost at half time without conceding. Job done so far.

  16. Postpublished at 19:40 British Summer Time 6 April 2018

    England 0-0 Wales

    Tom Garry
    BBC Sport at St Mary's

Phil Neville is signalling that he wants more width from his team. Wales haven't been as easy to break down as England might have hoped.

  17. Postpublished at 35 mins

    England 0-0 Wales

Toni Duggan cuts in from her station on the left and hits a shot but it's straight at Laura O'Sullivan. Phil Neville is on his toes to catch the ball in the techincal area and get it quickly to a white shirt. He is kicking every ball, as they say.

Matt Jones: Genuine question, why is goal line technology not being used in this Women's World Cup qualifier despite the game being played at St Mary's, where they have that technology at their disposal? Wales should be in front through that ruled out goal.

James O'Hara: Lots of possession but all a bit ponderous so far from England. Not exactly convinced by the short corner strategy

  19. 'A top save'published at 19:35 British Summer Time 6 April 2018

    England 0-0 Wales

    Sue Smith
Former England forward on BBC Two

What an effort from Jordan Nobbs. That's what she brings to the side. Laura O'Sullivan tips that onto the bar. That's a top save.

  20. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 33 mins

    England 0-0 Wales

    Great hit!

Jordan Nobbs seizes on a rushed clearance from Charlie Estcourt, takes a touch and then hits a dipping, curling strike from 25 yards. That's sailing in until Wales keeper Laura O'Sullivan palms it on to the bar and away.
