Roma 1-1 Liverpool (3-6 agg)
James Milner's own goal was the first Liverpool have scored in a Champions League game since John Arne Riise's in the semi-final first leg against Chelsea in 2007-08
Roma 1-1 Liverpool (3-6 agg)
Corner to Roma as Dejan Lovren gets the ball out of play. You can sense the hope around the Stadio Olimpico. It's cleared by Sadio Mane - but only to the halfway line.
The ball comes back into the box but Patrik Schick fouls Lovren to concede a free-kick.

It was just a big old booming ball into the box. It's unfortunate but we just said before it went in, that Liverpool should sit-in for a bit because they had the lead. As it is now, Roma feel they're back in the game.
Roma 1-1 Liverpool (3-6 agg)
Roma scoring three goals seems possible - but Liverpool not scoring again seems less realistic to me.
Roma 1-1 Liverpool (3-6 agg)
Liverpool are straight on the hunt for goals in the right net again and Sadio Mane curls just wide from 20 yards out.
James Milner own goal
This is a Champions League own goal for the ages.
Stephan El Shaarawy heads across goal and Dejan Lovren boots it away. Or so he thinks. He actually kicks it directly at James Milner's head and the ball flies past Loris Karius, who had no chance.
Roma need three more without reply.
Roma 0-1 Liverpool (2-6 agg)
This could be a long night for Roma. They give Mohamed Salah space to shoot on the edge of the box but his effort is held by Alisson.
I can't see any way the Reds don't score another goal in the next 75 minutes.
Roma 0-1 Liverpool (2-6 agg)
Liverpool are the first team to score a Champions League goal away to Roma all season.

I'm listening to the wireless with my six-year-old son, a mad Liverpool fan. Could he be about to witness the start of another era of Liverpool European dominance?

Roma 0-1 Liverpool (2-6 agg)
Roma will have to take more gambles now. Federico Fazio comes forward and finds Patrik Schick but he can't pick out Edin Dzeko.
Roma 0-1 Liverpool (2-6 agg)
What that means is Roma now need to score four without reply to go through.
Radja Nainggolan, trying to make amends for his error, shoots well over from distance.

How good is that?
The away end is bouncing but there is a stunned silence in the rest of the ground. Great breakaway by Liverpool. Bobby Firmino waited and waited until Sadio Mane was in position. The finish is so calm and what a time to score.
Sadio Mane
Dream start for Liverpool.
A terrible pass by Radja Nainggolan gives the ball to Roberto Firmino and he is allowed time and space to run at Roma's defence. He looks up and plays the ball through to Sadio Mane, who can just side-foot it past Alisson from 12 yards out.
Roma 0-0 Liverpool (2-5 agg)
Another foul on Mohamed Salah as Aleksandar Kolarov bundles him over from behind. Free-kick
Now a bit of a penalty appeal as Sadio Mane goes over in the box. Was he shoved? Referee says no.

Grayman: I'm a Man City fan but I find myself shouting for Liverpool tonight. In the semi on merit and could go all the way! 4-2 to Roma
Anon: Note the comment that the Stadio Olimpico is rocking. I don't hear anyone saying that the running track makes the stadium unfit? West Ham take note! Come on Liverpool!
Roma 0-0 Liverpool (2-5 agg)
Aleksandar Kolarov stubs a high ball through to former Manchester City team-mate Edin Dzeko, who puts the ball across goal but nobody is there to put it in.
Now we have the first chance of the game as Roma's Alessandro Florenzi shoots from 30 yards out but it fizzes just wide.
Roma 0-0 Liverpool (2-5 agg)
Roma captain Daniele De Rossi leaves a boot in on Mohamed Salah and concedes a free-kick. Salah is fine though.
Liverpool fans will worry every time he's fouled.
Roma 0-0 Liverpool (2-5 agg)
Liverpool try to break but Lorenzo Pellegrini chests the ball back to Alisson, who has had a fantastic season despite conceding five times at Anfield.

You can see Roma's intention early on. It's very very direct and they have started exactly how Liverpool started last week.
