    Celtic 0-0 Rangers

    Martin Dowden

The warning signs are clear for Rangers and they are extremely fortunate not to be behind with Moussa Dembele very unlucky with his early volley off the upright.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are playing with intent. They have so much possession and are easing into the style of play that suits them.

Tactically, Rangers may need to tinker to get up the pitch. They surely can’t allow Celtic to keep coming at them.

  12. Dembele looking dangerouspublished at 9 mins

    Celtic 0-0 Rangers

Moussa Dembele looks razor-sharp at Hampden. The French striker plays a neat one-two with Tom Rogic but he can't get a shot away under the close attention of Ross McCrorie.

A minute later, it's Olivier Ntcham who has an effort on goal but it's high, wide and not very handsome.

Frenetic stuff at Hampden in the opening 10 minutes. It remains goalless.

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos can't keep the ball in play in what looked like a promising position for an attack. The Colombian tries to control but it trundles out for a Celtic throw-in.

It's a deep cross and Dembele gets between McCrorie and Martin; they are remonstrating with each other and rightly so.

    Martin Dowden

Sitting close to the Rangers supporters, you sense a genuine belief that their side can damage Celtic.

This is a one off and a chance for the Ibrox side to really arrive under Graeme Murty.

In contrast, Celtic know how close they now are to the double-treble. It has never been done before and no matter the context, that would be historic; another chapter in the tenure of Brendan Rodgers’ success story if they go on and do it.

The atmosphere is already electric. It is about who handles that best and which team shows most will to win.

Both sides have all the motivation they need. It could be a memorable occasion.
