    FT: Manchester City 0-0 Lyon

How important might that 90th-minute Karen Bardsley save prove to be?

It was a wonderful fingertip stop from Amandine Henry's header - but Lyon will wonder how Griedge M'Bock Bathy managed to miss the target with the rebound.

The second leg, incidentally, is next Sunday in France.

An outstanding result for Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.

Lyon had won all their previous competitive games this season and were the more threatening team, but the English side held firm to prevent them scoring an away goal.

Nick Cushing's side can be confident going into the second leg in France.

    Manchester City 0-0 Lyon

The fresh legs of Claire Emslie runs down the left and holds the ball up well for Manchester City.

Her pass doesn't come off but it wastes some crucial seconds.

    Manchester City 0-0 Lyon

Three minutes of added time indicated, and we've already had a minute of that.

Centre-back Griedge M'Bock Bathy has a go from range for Lyon but it's a pea-roller and easily saved.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 90 mins

    Manchester City 0-0 Lyon

Karen Bardsley has kept her best save until last.

Wendie Renard crosses for Amandine Henry, whose header is somehow kept out by the diving stop of the England keeper.

Griedge M'Bock Bathy hits the rebound into the side netting.

Lyon are beginning to shoot from range regularly, which shows how much Manchester City have frustrated them.

    Manchester City 0-0 Lyon

Great last-gasp defending by Demi Stokes prevents an almost certain Lyon goal.

I realise I'm tempting fate here, but a goalless draw would represent a great result for Manchester City.

To not concede an away goal would be a massive boost, and Nick Cushing's side could go to France and play on the break in an attempt to snatch one on the counter.

Meanwhile Steph Houghton is down for the hosts, holding her head.

    Laura Bassett
    England defender on BBC Sport

It's brilliant to have two English semi-finalists and it's so good for the WSL. We really want the best quality league in the world and I genuinely think we're up there.

I really hope everyone is shouting for Manchester City and Chelsea later on. To have an all-English final would be brilliant, but just to have just one of them in there would be brilliant too.

Remember, you can follow the first leg of Chelsea's tie with Wolfsburg on BBC Sport from 17:45 BST.

  18. Postpublished at 68 mins

    Manchester City 0-0 Lyon

Manchester City come forward again, Nikita Parris controlling the ball back for Izzy Christiansen to shoot from 20 yards or so.

She does well to keep her effort down but Sarah Bouhaddi gets down easily to keep it out.

  19. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 66 mins

    Manchester City 0-0 Lyon

Nikita Parris wants a penalty after a challenge by Lyon's Griedge Mbock in the box, but replays show the defender won the ball cleanly.

The resulting Manchester City corner is poor and lands on the roof of the net.
