Liverpool have started very confidently and have already given Real Madrid enough anxious moments to encourage their huge following.

They have also, however, been careless on a couple of occasions at the back and that has to stop.

Sho: Come on Real wake up!

Corner comes in and Virgil van Dijk crashes into Keylor Navas and heads the ball over. Took man and ball there.

Have Real's players been out on the lash? Dani Carvajal plays a baffling backpass from the right-back position which isn't near his team-mates and goes out for a corner.

The way Liverpool play they do not respect any team, and they have just run at Real Madrid.

This is a much better spell from Real, Isco's cross is headed away before it can reach Cristiano Ronaldo's head.

He charges down the right wing, cuts inside and shoots - just over the bar. He had options in the centre, but I'd say they knew the ball wasn't coming to them.

Something is just off with Real Madrid. They come forward and Toni Kroos gets a simple pass to Cristiano Ronaldo wrong, it's straight out for a throw-in.

Kroos, by the way, is the first German player to appear in four different Champions League finals.

James Milner shot, blocked. Sadio Mane shot, blocked, Mohamed Salah shot, blocked. Is there a goal coming? It certainly feels like it.

Liverpool had 61% of the possession in the opening 10 minutes but Real are just putting their first spell of passing together now.

Liverpool are playing at such speed that I'm exhausted just watching it. Sergio Ramos just hoofs a ball clear to give Real a bit of rest.

Real are petrified, not even going to the centre circle, they are only 30 yards from goal. Petrified of the pace.

This is a very promising start from a Liverpool point of view. Now Andy Robertson's cross from the left is headed wide by Roberto Firmino. They are showing no signs of nerves. None at all.

Huge scare for Real Madrid. Roberto Firmino plays a wonderful ball behind Real's defence. Keeper Keylor Navas has to come running off his line and between him and Raphael Varane, they get it clear. Just.

Now Trent Alexander-Arnold almost gets onto a loose ball but Navas comes out of his six-yard box again to dive onto it.
