Not trying to dampen expectations for the second half Efan, especially as Costa Rica are unbeaten in their last five World Cup matches...But four of those games resulted in a measly two goals.

Will Serbia be able to break them down?

An even balance in that first half, but Serbia have got more control.

Costa Rica don't have the wherewithal to really sit back too much, they will want to go forward.

Their best opportunity will be playing counter-attacking football, if the second half starts at the same pace as it did in the first half there will be some tired legs.

Milinkovic-Savic was nowhere near offside. A good acrobatic overhead kick, super connection, just too close to the keeper. Keylor Navas got down smartly and made a good save.

Crikey what an effort. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic with exemplary technique to execute an overhead kick from Branislav Ivanovic's cross.

Keylor Navas superbly saves but there's an added twist. The offside flag is up but Milinkovic-Savic WAS ON.

Another VAR case if that had gone in perhaps?

What's this another Costa Rica foray forward. This time it ends in Francisco Calvo darting in off but he drags his effort wide of the near post from the edge of the penalty area.

First sight of goal for Costa Rica for a while.

Marco Urena works a yard of space about 20-yards out but his effort is wayward.

He does at least have the excuse that it was on his weaker left foot with Serbia's Dusko Tosic in attendance to provide that extra layer of difficulty.

Offside or not Sergej Milinkovic-Savic should really have done better with that last effort. He's being touted as Serbia's one to watch this afternoon. For more reasons that one.

The 23-year-old scored 14 goals for Lazio last season and is attracting admiring glances across Europe.

At 6ft 4in, we've already seen glimpses of his physicality and skill but not quite a standout moment yet.

His club owner Claudio Lotito has said he's turned down repeated bids for the player that range from £60m - £100m.

Could he just be trying to drive up the price? Possibly. Either way, Serbia will hope he comes to the fore as this progresses.

Big chance for Serbia and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic but the Lazio midfielder fluffs his lines.

Just as well the assistant referee's flag saved his blushes then. He was just offside.

Kyle: I fancy Serbia may edge it. 2-1, Mitrovic has been on fire for them, including a hat-trick in a warm up match. He has also been in good form for Fulham. The Serbia midfield is packed full of quality and they look solid at the back too.

Ibsy: Another difficult fixture to call. I'm going for Serbia, they'll be too strong for Costa Rica plus former Chelsea legend and defender Ivanovic is playing.

So what do we think so far? It's been quite an attacking game with both teams going for it but I'm honestly struggling to pick a winner.

    What about you?

That is an ugly challenge, when you lunge in like that and don't get he ball like he did. Minimum yellow.

What was I saying about physical battles? Francisco Calvo goes into the book for a heavy challenge on Dusan Tadic. The Serbian playmaker felt that one.

One way of dealing with an aerial threat is by using your experience. Seems Oscar Ramirez, the Costa Rica coach thought as much as well, with his team selection this afternoon.

Serbia are of course the tallest team in this competition and are looking to make that count when they throw the ball into the Costa Rica penalty area.

I can think of places I'd rather be as a defender, than challenging Serbia's big men!

Signs that Serbia's main men are just starting to warm-up. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Nemanja Matic combine in midfield to work an opening for Branislav Ivanovic but Aleksandar Mitrovic can't get on the end of the veteran's cross.
