    South Korea 2-0 Germany

England are now just the fourth favourites to win the World Cup.

The Three Lions have been cut from 10-1 into just 17-2, and are now fancied more than France and Argentina.

That’s the first time this World Cup that England have been bigger favourites than France, who have drifted to 10-1 for the tournament.

Since Germany’s exit, Gareth Southgate’s men have been the most popular bet in the outright winner market, attracting 56% of all bets on the eventual victor.

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “England fans will always rejoice an early exit for the Germans in a major tournament, and the fact that Southgate's men are looking like hopefuls themselves is a huge bonus.

“England's route to the final will now be clear of a penalty shootout loss to the old enemy.”

I'm so happy South Korea won that game because they were sharper and they looked fitter. Germany did not do enough and they were incredibly poor.

  7. 'I did not see it coming'published at 17:02 British Summer Time 27 June 2018

    South Korea 2-0 Germany

    Chris Sutton

I did not see it coming. I thought Germany would've brought the momentum from the Sweden game into today, but they started so slowly without any intensity. Why was Manuel Neuer ahead of two forwards for the second goal? He is a loose cannon.

    South Korea 2-0 Germany

Now that's a touch map. Manuel Neuer might regret that one on the opposition half. Not that they would have gone through anyway at that stage.

Mexico look gutted - but they're through to the last 16. A 3-0 defeat by Sweden did not matter in the end as both sides go through from that game.

  12. Germany are OUT of the World Cuppublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 27 June 2018

    South Korea 2-0 Germany

Defending champions Germany are out of the World Cup.

THEY ARE GONE. And they finish bottom on goal difference.

Sweden, who beat Mexico 3-0, have topped the group. Mexico come second.

South Korea are also packing their bags but they go home having knocked out the defending champions. What a moment. What a World Cup!

Manuel Neuer you are a disgrace. What is he doing playing on the left wing? He is a goalkeeper, why is he in that position? It’s an open goal for Son and the Germans have got what they deserve.
