  1. 'The break hasn't helped Croatia'published at 21:00 British Summer Time 11 July 2018

    Croatia 1-1 England

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

It's funny, when you get the ball the energy levels increase, but when you lose it, you see a lot of players starting to look tired. It's a good start by England and that break hasn't helped Croatia because they have gone off the pace.

Extra time is the ultimate test, physically and mentally. We'll see how prepared these England players really are in the next half an hour. Croatia have started extra time a little bit slowly.

Ivan Strinic has now gone down holding his thigh/groin area. Cramp or a strain? He's going to come off I think.

This is better from England. Marcus Rashford almost completes a one-two on the edge of the area before Dele Alli then gives it away.

Paulie: Watching game while on dialysis, blood pressure high, pulse through the roof. Come on England

Neil, Manchester: Why have England reverted to type? Gone is the composure of the earlier rounds. Pass and rush and long balls. We're lucky to still be in this game

Josh Fish, Somerset: We need to keep the ball on the deck, Gareth Southgate-style instead of pumping long balls, Sam Allardyce-style.

Not sure a waistcoat would suit Big Sam anyway

Croatia players in a huddle, coach Zlatko Dalic is in the middle, barking instructions. England now doing the same. Southgate has just given the biggest team talk of his life

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer in Moscow

England paid the price for allowing Croatia to take control in the area where they can hurt you most - in midfield. Once Luka Modric starts pulling the strings the problems start.

    Croatia 1-1 England

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Luka Modric has started drifting into the inside right position and Jordan Henderson can't get near him. He has just dictated the last half an hour of the football match and the midfield players should have just latched onto him for 20 minutes.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:53 British Summer Time 11 July 2018

Danny Rose is coming on for Ashley Young. Gareth Southgate has them huddled together, I feel better already.

Chris, Cardiff: Whatever happens, the lads have done us proud tonight. Came out and dominated a first half semi final. Couldn't close it out and naturally for a young team, got nervous and have let the Croatians back into the game, who to their credit have been really good. Just need to step back up a gear for extra time. COME ON ENGLAND!

Mark, Glasgow: How can any England fan be negative? Great tournament, half expect the armchair critics to be calling for Rooney back. C'mon England

Piv: Harry Kane needs to be a leader and show some fighting spirit. To quote my finance he's been a "wet lettuce".

Harry Kane just heads it down into the ground. He sees it a bit too late and the chance goes. There was lots of grappling going on in the area once again.
