  2. Excellent from Englandpublished at 19:33 British Summer Time 11 July 2018

    Croatia 0-1 England

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer in Moscow

England faster, sharper and more dominant but Croatia still well in this and their fans roaring them forward with the slightest encouragement - but this has been excellent from Gareth Southgate's side so far.

Credit where it's due - that was in fact an incredible save to kick Harry Kane's follow-up against his own post. Well done Danijel Subasic.

Ashley Young then does really well to win a tackle inside the area.

    And breathe...

Massive chance for England there. It's an unbelievable save from Subasic to get back and save from Harry Kane but what an opportunity.

    Croatia 0-1 England

Of all the players, in all the positions...

Hard to believe it's only 1-0, and then Jordan Pickford has to save smartly from Ante Rebic after good work from Luka Modric. The best we've seen from the opponents.

  7. 'You would fancy Kane from there'published at 19:30 British Summer Time 11 July 2018

    Croatia 0-1 England

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

You would back Harry Kane from there. He didn't know he was offside, but you would fancy him with that first chance.

  8. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 30 mins

    Croatia 0-1 England

    HUGE CHANCE!

How has Harry Kane not scored that?! He's played through, inside the area, keeper saves his tame effort and he then rattles the post from a matter of two or three yards!

The flag went up but he was onside. VAR would have reviewed that and it would surely have counted.

Dejan Lovren is being led a merry dance by Raheem Sterling. That final ball remains to be found from the Manchester City man but he's pulling Lovren hither and thither.

Simon: Croatia starting to find space and channels, we need to disrupt their rhythm

Rachel: If anything after this World Cup, Pochettino needs his plaudits for the work he has done with some of the players at Tottenham

Andy: I've never seen an Eng team, in the latter stages of a tournament, look as if they could score with every attack...

Raheem Sterling skins Dejan Lovren, who fouls him in a silly position. He's too sharp for them at the moment.

James Mansfield: Smash it long and good at set pieces. So this is what it feels like to be a Pulis team! ( I'm not knocking it though ICH!)

Lee Millington: It'ss coming home. Pep was in spain they won it he moved to Germany they won it. Now he here in england. Get ready everyone its coming home

  14. Nice touch!published at 19:25 British Summer Time 11 July 2018

No one had more touches in the opening 20 minutes than Harry Maguire - 17. And he wasn't far off from scoring with that much talked about head of his as well!

  15. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Croatia 0-1 England

Great stuff from Kieran Trippier and Jesse Lingard this time to link down the right, England look sharp and incisive. Again, the final ball is awry as he was tackled.

  16. 'Best 22 minutes of the tournament'published at 19:24 British Summer Time 11 July 2018

    Croatia 0-1 England

    Trevor Brooking
Former England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

This has been the best 22 minutes of the tournament for England. They have dominated and they have got ahead, while Croatia are trying to push more men forward. The game will open up and it certainly won't stay 1-0.

  17. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Croatia 0-1 England

Raheem Sterling has this backline for toast if he wants it. He nutmegs one man, knocks it down the line, skins a second and then is unlucky to see his final touch flick off Domagoj Vida's heel and away.

England look a real threat when they go direct.

  18. 'Funny start from the referee'published at 19:23 British Summer Time 11 July 2018

    Croatia 0-1 England

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

The referee has had a funny start and he has missed a lot of things. It's definitely a foul on Harry Kane which was right, but he has got a few decisions wrong.

  19. CLOSE!published at 22 mins

    Croatia 0-1 England

What a chance! England should really punish a horrible touch from Ivan Strinic, the left-back passes it straight to Raheem Sterling. He should drive into the box but hurriedly passes to Harry Kane, who's well offside.

    Silly decision. Big chance.
