It's been an excellent half for England. My only concern is Harry Kane and Jesse Lingrad missing those two big chances.

Harry Kane works back into midfield to win the ball back and England keep it smartly for a spell. But then a lapse in concentration at the back almost lets Croatia in but Kyle Walker defends manfully and clears. Almost at half-time.

England started brightly and got their reward with the goal. They have come off the pace now but Croatia are struggling to find a way through.

England fans love that as Croatia end a spell of possession with Sime Vrsaljko spanking a shot wastefully over from range.

England 50 minutes away from a World Cup final as it stands. I know, I know, long way to go.

England are so impressive with how they all know their jobs and are working to keep Luka Modric off the ball. He's hardly had any touches so far and that's because they have been set up so well.

Dele Alli getting through a lot of work in midfield, tracking Sime Vrsaljko diligently. Croatia seeing plenty of the ball but it's England who look more dangerous when they attack.

What a chance again for England. It's great play from Kane travelling with the ball and then he's really composed. Alli finds Lingard who opens his body up but he completely misses the target. It's so encouraging though seeing how they are getting into these positions.

Raheem Sterling's running in behind is causing havoc. Domagoj Vida is blowing as he makes another last-ditch challenge. England work it well again but this time Kieran Trippier overcooks his cross.

Ivan Rakitic, Luka Modric and Mario Mandzukic have big tournament experience but Croatia's dangerous trio failed to get a touch on the ball inside the England penalty area in the opening half an hour.

Both sides have now had one shot on target. Should be two! England turn the ball over in midfield, Harry Kane feeds Dele Alli, he finds Jesse Lingard on the edge of the area and he bends a low shot wide.

Should at least have made Subasic make a save...
