France 2-1 Croatia
Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live
I can't see France playing any worse than that in the first half. It is the poorest I have seen them play.
France win World Cup for second time, after winning in 1998
Deschamps third person to win the World Cup as both player & manager
Mandzukic own goal, Griezmann pen (after VAR review), Pogba and Mbappe for France
Perisic and Mandzukic (from Lloris error) for Croatia

France 2-1 Croatia
No idea how Croatia are behind to be honest. They've been streets ahead. Paul Pogba loses it in midfield, Ivan Rakitic finds Ante Rebic and his shot is tipped over by Hugo Lloris!
Good one-handed save...
France 2-1 Croatia
Martin Keown
Former England defender on BBC One
I can guarantee you a tremendous spirit from Croatia because they just don't know when they are beaten, and they will keep going till the end of this match.
France 2-1 Croatia
France find Olivier Giroud in space, no shot on target all tournament of course for the big man, he tees up Antoine Griezmann and his shot is straight at Danijel Subasic.
That's their second shot on target of the final...

And away we go again...

Alan Shearer
Former England captain on BBC One
Croatia have proved that they have got character and ability, and if they keep up their level of performance from the first half, they can get back into it.

Rio Ferdinand
Former England defender on BBC One
Croatia have to control their emotions. I think they will get back into this and they have a good chance of going on to win it.

Here we go then, the players are back out...

It is too close for Ivan Perisic to react. He is not going to deliberately handle the ball. The referee took so long so he can't be certain. He can't!
It becomes almost laughable. He can't be clear. Croatia have been let down but the character they have shown after each of the goals have gone in, has been brilliant.

Look at it in real time. He's bringing his hand down as he's descending to the ground and he can't see the ball behind the French player in front of him

Tough goal of the tournament to call this one...
France 2-1 Croatia
Jurgen Klinsmann
Former Germany head coach on BBC One
When you are not sure, you don't give it (the penalty). It is the wrong decision but you have to leave that behind that now, Croatia have to re-group and find the spirit again.
It is about what is coming next and this Croatia team is capable of turning this around. Don't be stuck with this situation, Croatia have to go back to what they were doing and they were overpowering France.

There were two minutes and 12 seconds between the ball hitting Ivan Perisic's hand and referee Nestor Pitana deciding to award a penalty...

I think it is a penalty. I would have given it. Perisic has stopped the ball going through with his hand.

Alan Shearer
Former England captain on BBC One
It will be such a shame if this game is decided on that decision. That is not a deliberate handball and it shouldn't be a penalty. The referee didn't give it initially, but then he is certain he has made an error after going to the VAR? I don't agree with it.
Kylian Mbappé completed just two passes in the first half.

We knew going behind wouldn't faze Croatia and they kept going and going and putting France under pressure. There was a deflection on Ivan Perisic's shot but Croatia deserve it.
