    Marseille 0-0 Atletico Madrid

Marseille winger Lucas Ocampos works the ball over to full-back Bouna Sarr but his shot from 20 yards out is wide of Jan Oblak's post.

Oblak has conceded 26 goals in 47 games this season so Marseille will be doing well if they score one.

Feels like Bjorn Kuipers referees every single Champions League and Europa League game I watch. He's the whistler today.

Marseille have has 64% of the ball so far.

    Marseille 0-0 Atletico Madrid

I'm going to shock you - Diego Costa is at the heart of some aggro already. The Atletico Madrid striker barges over Adil Rami and the referee has words. Plenty of jeers from the almost home crowd.

    Marseille 0-0 Atletico Madrid

A good spell from the French side as Florian Thauvin finds Valere Germain but he can't get a shot away.

Atletico don't properly clear another cross and Adil Rami shoots wide on the bounce from 16 yards out.

    Marseille 0-0 Atletico Madrid

First chance of the game and Marseille should be ahead. Dimitri Payet slips a wonderful through ball to Valere Germain and he just side-foots over the bar from 10 yards out. Very poor to not hit the target.

Throw-in to Atletico, Sime Vrsaljko does his best Rory Delay impersonation but Marseille get it away.

Diego Costa chases a long ball forward through the smoke but it bounces into the hands of Marseille keeper Steve Mandanda.

Plenty of smoke on the pitch - not sure if they're from flares or pyrotechnics from the musical performance before kick-off.

Atletico are the favourites for this game at even money, say Oddschecker. Marseille are 3-1 to win in 90 minutes.

Now the players come out. Probably all singing those hit songs - Be Mine and Katchi - to themselves.

There's a DJ act on the pitch now four minutes before kick-off. The players are literally waiting in the tunnel.

Uefa tell us: "French DJ duo Ofenbach, the brains behind the hit singles Be Mine and Katchi, will perform at the opening ceremony."

Atletico captain Gabi: "We've been working the same way for the past seven years with our boss. Everyone that's been here has grown."

"We’ll need our heads, hearts and whatever it takes to win. The only thing that matters is winning the game."

Defender Diego Godin: "In the last few days, we've been following Marseille. Individually, they have talented players from the midfield up."

"The 2012 Europa League was a while back. We're a group that's been growing non-stop... We'll play with our heart and head to be able to play the best possible way."

Marseille boss Rudi Garcia: "This is the 25th anniversary of the only win of a French team in the Champions League.

"We have a long-lasting love story with the European cups which goes back to the nineties. We all want to imitate what our famous predecessors did although we know it's going to be very difficult and quite a mission, but that would make it even more of a sensation if we win.

"They have more experience than us, but it feels like anything is possible when it's just one game."

I was at the stadium in Lyon for the Euro 2016 last 16 game between France and the Republic of Ireland - and it's a great ground. Top atmosphere.

Seems like a great buzz there today - Marseille fans are outnumbering Atletico Madrid's, unsurprisingly given the geography.

Zinedine Zidane has a double reason for wanting Marseille to win today.

He is from the French town - and manages Atletico Madrid's city rivals Real.

"It’s incredible. It’s outstanding for Marseille, the club and supporters but first and foremost it’s outstanding for the city. It’s a football city and it needs to experience these emotions like it did in the past.

"They’re a great club and they’re going to play in a big final.

"I hope they’re able to play well because I’ve always been a Marseille fan. I used to go to the stadium when I was young. I grew up with the club so I wish them all the best for the final."

Barnaby Hands: For smaller teams, the UEL is great for gaining exposure and a chance to play in Europe. Dropping down is key for the smaller leagues, whose champions won't have a chance in the CL. Saying that, I think it's silly that 4th gets you into the "Champions" League

You can ban Diego Simeone from the touchline, but you can't ban him from celebrating

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is banned from the touchline tonight as part of a four-game European ban for his red card in the first leg against Arsenal.

He is confident assistant coach German Burgos will do a good job pitchside.

"I feel sad that I won't be as close as I'd like to the players but we had this situation before, when German took charge against Arsenal.

"We've known each other for nearly all our lives, we have the same vision of football so whatever I'm thinking, he is thinking the same."

Marseille boss Rudi Garcia said: "It's a shame he is suspended, and it will be very difficult for them. I am very disappointed, it would have been a great moment to be together."
