Pickford on settling into camp routine:

"We’ve got our routines going. Training every day and recovery with the support team and physios and masseurs.

"Our downtime is managed as well. We get to see our families the day after a game which is very good and then a few games of Fortnite."

Pickford on his conversation with John Stones after Panama's consolation goal:

We as defenders and keepers don’t like conceding and it was just me asking what happened?

The line was a bit jagged and we do work on that in training: with set pieces. We’ve scored six out of eight setpieces and they're crucial in tournament football but we will carry on working on it.

We do all our training and at the end of the session we have 10 minutes of set plays with the attackers at one end and defending at the other.

Jordan Pickford on accepting changes to the team:

Like I said the whole squad is here to play and everyone wants to. The starting 11 will never finish and people who come on need to be fresh so it’s an opportunity for some to get minutes under belt and get fresh.

I think we all know where we are as a team. It’s all about the team. Whoever is starting everyone is behind eachother and we’re supportive.

England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford: "Our togetherness and mentality is unbelievable. The freedom we have got and the knowledge of what we have to do to win games.

"Set plays are crucial to us, but in ability terms I think that we are right up there with the best."

Jordan Pickford on his request for Ashley Young to go to the bench against Tunisia: "We did a bit of research on each penalty taker - and the lad who took it had never taken it before - I wasn't sure where he was going to go and I didn't know if they had any information on him.

"I know Wahbi Khazri from our Sunderland days and maybe he was scared!

"We know the different sides of the draw, but we are focused on Belgium and beating them."

Pickford: We don't know the team yet. The keepers have been working on Belgium's style of play in training and we did our work but nothing has been said yet.

It’s a team game 23 players and all 23 of us fighting for places. It's tough to call who will play because the ability is unbelievable and will take us as far as we can go

England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford: Our mentality is to win every game we play - if we do that it keeps building momentum. We can't be looking at that. Belgium are a top team and we will need to be at the top of our game.

Pickford: It’s been a good start and we knew we needed to start well

Tunisia was a massive game in tournament football to build momentum. Two wins and qualified and that’s part one done and now Belgium and the type of game we want to be playing in

We know the ability we've got and how far we can go. We know if we’re performing the fans will be happy at home.

All my mates are and I've been getting the snapchats from them so as long as we're performing it's good.

A few of them have come out with my family. It’s been a good start but we need to progress.

England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford: Harry Kane is a top forward and finishing is his main game. Watching his two penalties last night were top drawer. You would have to do a lot of guessing to get those - the power and the accuracy behind them gives you no chance.

"I would have liked to get the clean sheet against Panama, but it is a team performance and to win like we did was great."

A giant inflatable football, external has been displayed in Chelyabinsk. The 20-metre ball, specifically designed for the World Cup was first supposed to be taken to World Cup host cities, but after a mishap with sponsors, the ball got stuck in Chelybinsk. The director of the factory where the ball was manufactured, Artyom Mazanov, says he still hopes to find a new buyer. If not, the ball will be presented to the winner of the World Cup.

It was the kit that prompted an internet-breaking three million pre-orders.

Pete Hoppins, head of the Nike team that produced Nigeria's insanely popular design for the tournament, has been talking to Sports Illustrated about how it came about., external

"We kind of went down this rabbit hole of inspiration and design and found out about this whole amazing culture that's happening," he said.

"So this is the first time that we've really dug super deep and then tried to encapsulate that vibe through a full collection. Then it was about getting it in front of some of these players and cultural influencers. As soon as we started showing the designs and the product to the players, we knew we were onto something."

Marcelo Bielsa believes Argentina will kick-start their World Cup campaign today.

They must beat Nigeria and hope Iceland fail to win against Group D leaders Croatia if they are to qualify for the knockout phase.

The knockout stages will be played using a different ball to the group matches - the Telstar Mechta features a "new vivid red design inspired by the colours of the host nation" say Fifa.

It is the same design as the group stage ball but "adapted to reflect the added intensity and opportunity the knockout stage brings".

Simon Peach from the Press Association is reporting that Southampton are set to complete the signing of Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong.

He says it's a four-year deal, a fee in the region of £7m and is expecting confirmation later.
