    Derby 1-4 Leeds

Pride Park is understandably very quiet all of a sudden.

Apart from the Leeds fans of course, who haven't stopped singing throughout.

  2. goal

GOAL: Derby 1-4 Leedspublished at 64 mins

    Esgjan Alioski

    Game well and truly over.

A thumping header from Ezgjan Alioski, who arrives in the box and powers the ball past Scott Carson from ten yards. In the space of four minutes Leeds have surely wrapped this up.

Leeds have been superb today. A bit of a reality check for Frank Lampard's new-look side?

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 61 mins

    Derby 1-3 Leeds

    Derby make their second change.

It's a tall order to get back into this but here is time. Harry Wilson comes off and is replaced by Florian Jozefzoon.

Kemar Roofe has two and his second is every bit as good as his first goal.

The striker takes the ball in his stride, shifts it to his left foot and crashes it high into the near post beyond Scott Carson. A glorious hit.

  5. Blades 'stood up as men'published at 18:50 British Summer Time 11 August 2018

    FT: QPR 1-2 Sheff Utd

After netting the winner from the spot for Sheffield United at QPR, new Blades striker David McGoldrick told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"It's always good to get your first goal to open you account, and especially to get a win.

"At Swansea we let a couple of silly goals in and at Middlesbrough we had a crazy first 25 minutes where we didn't defend probably.

"But today, we deserved the win. We stood up as men.

"We finished in the top half last year and that's the aim again. We've brought in some good players."

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 56 mins

    Derby 1-2 Leeds

That's a ridiculous reaction save from Scott Carson. Kemar Roofe heads the ball at pace from a couple of yards out and the big keeper throws his hand up and pushes it away.

No surprise the chance came from another delightful cross from Samu Saiz, who floated a ball in that led to Roofe's chance. Luke Ayling's follow-up is then cleared.

    Derby 1-2 Leeds

Derby briefly threaten through a surging Tom Lawrence run and the Wales winger then shows great strength to get his cross in from the right.

Craig Bryson arrives but has no time to react and the ball hits the Scottish midfielder before going wide.

  8. Postpublished at 51 mins

    Derby 1-2 Leeds

Lovely patient football by Leeds. They knock the ball left to right then back in and back out to the right again. But Derby stand firm.

The Rams have looked solid when they have had time to regroup, but susceptible on the break. They will have to chase the game at some stage though if it remains 2-1.

Chris Harvey: Really impressed with how Bielsa has got Leeds playing, it's all starting to Klich!

  10. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Derby 1-2 Leeds

    A great start by Derby.

A sweeping move involving Harry Wilson, Mason Mount and Tom Lawrence so nearly ends with Martyn Waghorn sliding the ball in at the far post.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 18:36 British Summer Time 11 August 2018

    Derby 1-2 Leeds

Joe Ledley, who was on a booking, comes off for Derby with Bradley Johnson coming on. It's experience for experience.

The yellow card may well have been in Frank Lampard's mind, but surely it's a tactical move too? Samu Saiz is getting far too much room in the midfield.

    Will Johnson make a difference?

    FT: Middlesbrough 1-0 Birmingham

    Tony PulisImage source, Getty Images

Having seen his side beat Birmingham City 1-0 this afternoon, Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis told BBC Tees:

"They've been fantastic, the lads today, when you think it's the third game in a week, and conditions on the three games were very warm and very humid.

"And let's be fair, we should have won the game by five or six goals. It's an absolute travesty that the game has finished 1-0.

"The lads certainly deserved it. Some of the football that we played to create the opportunities and chances was absolutely first-class, and you have to put them away when you're creating them."

  14. Paterson ends 23-game goal droughtpublished at 18:28 British Summer Time 11 August 2018

    FT: Bolton 2-2 Bristol City

    Jamie PatersonImage source, Getty Images

Bristol City's Jamie Paterson scored his first goal since Boxing Day to earn Bristol City a point at Bolton this afternoon, as the Robins fought back from two goals down. After the game, he told BBC Radio Bristol:

"It was a tough second half to last season so it's good to start the season with a goal. I'm in a more attacking role now so I feel like I'm getting more chances and more attacking touches.

"It was a good game of football for the fans. We came back, showing great character, and probably should have won it at the end."

  15. Villa showed resolve after 'difficult summer'published at 18:25 British Summer Time 11 August 2018

    FT: Aston Villa 3-2 Wigan

Villa celebrate win v WiganImage source, Rex Features

Aston Villa snatched a late victory against promoted Wigan courtesy of Birkir Bjarnason's goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time in a pulsating match at Villa Park.

Victory was testament in manager Steve Bruce's eyes to his squad's "resilience" following a testing time for the club since May's play-off final defeat by Fulham.

"It was a great game and I have to say a great compliment to Wigan," Bruce told BBC WM.

"You can see why they romped League One and how they beat Man City last season in their FA Cup run.

"They're a very good side, caused us a lot of problems and we've come through it with a bit of resilience, which is evident after a difficult summer for everybody.

"We've managed to get through. To win back-to-back games with all the difficulties we've had, is huge."

Right then, while we take a moment at Pride Park, let's catch up with some more reaction from our 15:00 BST kick-offs in the Championship...

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:20 British Summer Time 11 August 2018

    Derby 1-2 Leeds

We wanted a fine game and we have had one. Cracking goals, chances and plenty of challenges flying in.

Leeds deservedly on top I would say.

  18. Postpublished at 45+2 mins

    Derby 1-2 Leeds

Samu Saiz tries an outrageous flicked long-range effort with the outside of his right foot from 20 yards.

He spoons is over the bar. It's about the only thing the Leeds playmaker has done wrong so far. He's been immense.

  19. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Derby 1-2 Leeds

Leeds stretch the play brilliantly and then look to keep possession and run down the clock as we enter three minutes of time added on at the end of the first half.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 43 mins

    Derby 1-2 Leeds

And Richard Keogh joins Joe Ledley in the referee's notebook, sliding in on the ever-dangerous Samu Saiz.

Maybe a bit of frustration after a promising Derby attack comes to nothing following a bit of penalty-box pinball?
