Sheffield United registered their first league win of the season last Saturday, winning 2-1 at QPR following defeats against Swansea and Middlesbrough to start the season.

The Blades have lost their last two league games at Bramall Lame, and haven't lost three consecutive home league games since February 2013.

Norwich are looking for their first league win of the season after drawing at Birmingham and losing a seven-goal thriller to West Brom last weekend.

Canaries' summer signing Jordan Rhodes has had more shots on target than any other Championship player this season with seven, but he's only scored with one of those efforts.

The Sheffield Wednesday loanee will hope his luck turns this afternoon.

  3. Royals look to avoid unwanted recordpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 18 August 2018

    Reading v Bolton (15:00 BST)

Reading warm upImage source, Rex Features

Reading have lost their first two games of the league season for the first time in 20 years.

A third defeat would be their worst start to a campaign since 1959-60, when the Berkshire club were in the third tier.

Visitors Bolton narrowly avoided relegation last season but have taken four points from their first two Championship games, beating West Brom and drawing at Bristol City.

New signing Josh Magennis has netted in both of those matches following his summer move from Charlton.

But the Trotters haven't won any of their past eight league games against Reading stretching back to 2008 - and former Royals midfielder Phil Parkinson has never beaten his former club in five previous attempts as a manager.

  4. Villa eye third straight league winpublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 18 August 2018

Ipswich v Aston Villa (15:00 BST)

    Jack GrealishImage source, Rex Features

Aston Villa seemed to be lurching towards crisis during the summer.

After losing the Championship play-off final to Fulham the Villans revealed that their financial position was decidedly uncertain.

But the Villa have attracted new investment, managed to keep hold of star midfielder Jack Grealish and have made a 100% start to the season - avoiding a League Cup upset at Yeovil Town in the process.

Steve Bruce's side make the trip to Suffolk aiming to make it nine points from nine, and face an Ipswich Town side who have taken one point from their first two league games under new boss Paul Hurst.

The Tractor Boys have not been too resilient when going behind, having lost 19 of their last 22 Championship matches in which they've conceded first - winning just one of those.

    Hull v Blackburn (15:00 BST)

Both sides at the KCOM Stadium are looking to pick up their first win of the Championship season.

Hull scored the first goal in both their opening league games, but lost to Aston Villa and then were pegged back to a draw by Sheffield Wednesday.

Newly-promoted Blackburn have taken a point each from matches against Ipswich and Millwall - the first time they have opened a season with two draws since 1979-80.

Rovers will be looking to repeat their fine display from midweek, when Bradley Dack scored twice and set up two others as he inspired a 5-1 win at Carlisle in the League Cup.

Tony Pulis' Middlesbrough have made an unbeaten start to the campaign and sit top of the fledgling Championship table.

After a late comeback at Millwall secured a draw on the opening day, last season's beaten play-off semi-finalists have recorded wins over Sheffield United and Birmingham.

Bristol City, their hosts today, are still looking for their first win of the new season.

The Robins have drawn their first two league games, and crashed out of the League Cup - a competition they reached the last four of last season - against League One Plymouth in midweek

Lee Johnson's side are winless in six league matches, their worst run since March 2017.

  12. Lampard enters Lions' Denpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 18 August 2018

    Millwall v Derby (15:00 BST)

    Frank LampardImage source, Rex Features

It's been one win and one defeat for new Derby County boss Frank Lampard in the Championship.

The former Chelsea and England midfielder got off to the perfect start with a late winner at Reading, but then saw his side picked apart in a 4-1 home defeat by Leeds United last Saturday.

A routine League Cup win at Oldham will have provided some respite in midweek, but it is a rather different challenge for the 40-year-old this afternoon.

It's a trip to Millwall for the Rams, with the Lions looking to record their first league win of the season after drawing their opening two games.

And as a former Chelsea and West Ham player, I'm sure the home supporters will offer Frank a special welcome to The Den.

  13. Bielsa revolution continuespublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 18 August 2018

    Leeds v Rotherham (15:00 BST)

    Marcelo BielsaImage source, Rex Features

New Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa has taken to English football like a duck to water.

His United side won their opening two league games convincingly, comfortably beating a Stoke side tipped for an immediate return to the Premier League and then dispatching play-off regulars Derby County last weekend.

The former Argentina and Chile manager subsequently saw his charges navigate the first round of the League Cup with a 2-1 win over Bolton in midweek.

Next up is a Yorkshire derby for Bielsa, with Rotherham United the visitors to Elland Road.

It might not be the liveliest match-up the 63-year-old has come across in his managerial career, but there have been five red cards in the last four Championship meetings between these sides, with two for the Whites and three for the Millers.

Grimsby lead 1-0 through Martyn Woolford's goal on 33 minutes.

That one has about 40 minutes left to play in the second half.
